Sometimes the truly great artists don't get real recognition until they are long gone.

Was Rich Gedman a team Hall of Fame quality catcher?

Was Rich Gedman a team Hall of Fame quality catcher? I liked Rich Gedman, and he did have a few good years there, but yeah, I see your point. It's the Red Sox's deal though, so they see a reason. I am happy, though, that they are acknowledging Dan Duquette for his service. He was a controversial GM, but he did bring Pedro and Manny to Boston, and also made maybe the greatest trade in Sox history, getting Jason Varitek and Derek Lowe for Heathcliff Slocumb. Theo Epstein rightfully gets lots of recognition for ending the Red Sox drought, but Duquette definitely had his mark over the 2004 team.

Two juicers. And I mean big time juicers. Hilarious. Who played in an era where 85% of baseball players were juiced. What's your point?

So when Barry Bonds was hitting all of those home runs for the Giants, you just sat there with your head down, pretending to not pay any attention? Or were you pointing your finger at him in shame? Yelling at the fans in anger as they cheered? How bout in 2002 when the Giants beat the Cardinals in the NLCS? Were you cheering for your team or protesting in the streets, calling every player on that team a scumbag? Let me guess, you decided to stop watching baseball around 1998, and didn't start watching again until the Mitchell report came out. When did you feel it was safe to go back into the water? There's been cheating in baseball since the 1800's, and guess what? The Houston Astros just showed the world that there is still cheating in baseball. I'm still a baseball fan through all of it, must be harder for someone as pious as you to enjoy it, but obviously you do.

I've been there, but it was one time only way back in the early 80's. It was a nice place, but weather is brutal up there after October. Also, the people up there are kind of weird. Honestly, once you get above Massachusetts and into those northern New England states, all of those folks are shall we say, kind of different.
