where's Richard Donner!!? As I said above, the first 2 Lethal Weapon movies are his only stand out movies for me. I like some of his other movies (Inside Moves, The Goonies, Lethal Weapon 3 and 4, Conspiracy Theory), but none of those are what i would call favorites. I am indifferent when it comes to The Omen and Superman.

Whoa. How do you not have Robert Zemeckis on this list or Richard Linklater?

It appears I like him more than you then. I like The Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket, Grand Budapest Hotel and Isle of Dogs.

Zemeckis is my favorite because of Romancing the Stone, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Back to the Future 1, 2 and 3, Death Becomes Her, Forrest Gump and Cast Away.

I like The Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket, Grand Budapest Hotel and Isle of Dogs. Oh ya. I forgot about Bottle Rocket. That's the first movie I saw of his. It's one I own as well. I only buy movies that are worth owning. Not ones I just think are good or OK.

I like many of his movies and a couple are among my favorite movies. I considered him for the last 5. When I get up to 40 there are a lot of directors I like equally. Zemeckis could have replaced DePalma or John Carpenter for example. Back to the Future, Forrest Gump and Roger Rabbit deserve their status among the greatest American movies ever made imo.
