Denver, Tennessee, Chicago, Las Vegas, and New Orleans would all take Brady. All would have a better record next year with him. But are any of those teams close to a Super Bowl? Is Brees even retiring? Chicago’s defense is solid but I don’t think they’re just a QB away. The Raiders are a .500 team, and it seems like Lock is playing well enough in Denver so far. Tennessee maybe only because of Vrabel. I think both New England and New Orleans would love to get Joe Burrow.

He can still play and he knows it. I don't see Brady going out like a chump. To me the possibilities rank as follows: 1. Plays for another team 2. Re-signs with the Patriots 3. Retires If there's one thing Tom Brady doesn't do, it's quit. He isn't noodle-arm Manning in Super Bowl 50 out there. There's no way he walks away after a season as disappointing as this one. Unless they turn it around and somehow make a deep playoff run and he thinks it's a good time to ride off into the sunset, he's still starting somewhere next year. The question is, if Brady goes to another team, what team would have him, and would Brady want to go to a team that WOULD have him? If he leaves the ideal situation would be like Peyton to the Broncos. Is there a team like that now? The Bears? But are the ready to give up on Trubisky for a max of two years of senior citizen Brady? Is 2020 Brady that much of an improvement over Philip Rivers and if so, are the Chargers just a QB away from the Super Bowl? I don’t see him going to a team like the Bengals or Dolphins, what would be the point? I still say it’s Patriots or retirement. There have actually been some rumblings of Miami, but I don't believe that for a second. I think 2020 Brady is an improvement over Rivers, so I can see the Chargers happening. Hell, could the Rams move Goff or just eat his salary? I don't see Brady going to Chicago. I just don't see how he comes back to NE. Tom Curran is as plugged in to the Pats as any reporter on Earth and this article lays out what I've been saying all year. Brady wants a raise and they won't give him one. They wouldn't give him one after a title last year, now that he's another year older, with worse stats and less weapons they're going to give him one? Why would he want to take less money to throw to scrubs and listen to the media give Belichick the credit for the wins and Brady the blame for the losses? I wouldn't want to start over at his age (hey, I am his age!), having played one place his entire career. But Brady is insane. He's too competitive to walk away from the game and too miserable right now with the garbage the Patriots gave him this year to come back. If he comes back, it would have to be with the promise that the Pats will load up on offense for the remainder of his career. They didn't address the TE position in the offseason and look what happened. They keep taking castoff receivers (Gordon, Brown) at cutrate prices and wondering why he has nobody to throw to at the end of the season. Sony Michel is an absolute bust (like so many of Belichick's picks over the years) and they no longer have Gronk or Develin blocking. The offense has been a shambles for two seasons, but Brady and McDaniels were able to fix it up with duct tape and squeeze another Super Bowl out of it last year. It's not going to magically get better next year without a serious influx of talent. Do you see the Patriots of all teams breaking the bank to appease a 43 year old QB? (Again, we can debate the finer points of cap philosophy another time, my point is there are conflicting interests at play here.) Brady has nothing to lose by going to another contender. The worst that can happen is he fails and people say he's gone off the cliff, which they're already saying anyway. He's 42, so hey. The worst that can happen for the Patriots next season is they go 3-13 with Jarrett Stidham and an 'elite' defense that has faced four teams with a winning record at this moment and only managed to stifle Josh Allen. My gut tells me he's gone.

Scary version we haven't considered: Brady views a lot more teams than we do as being 'just a QB away.' Or he just wants to prove he still 'has it' and signs a bloated contract with an average team with a few weapons just so he can put up gaudy numbers one more time.

I don’t know anything about Burrow but I imagine he’ll be a top 5 pick, right? What do the Patriots and Saints have to offer to move that far up? Even if one of them does a Ditka’s-entire-draft-for-Williams thing is that enough?

Possibly a couple more who could have loaded offenses. But that one clearly stands out as both Winston and Fitzmagic have had amazing, and amazingly inconsistent, number with those weapons.

Yes, maybe. The Florida gulf coast is nice, he can build a house next to St. Jetersburg so Hannah and Gisele can hang out, Arians isn’t a bad coach.

Is the world ready for an NFL division that has Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, and whoever the Panthers might have (Cam Newton?) I guess Carolina might be a potential destination for Brady, too. Not sure about their defense, o-line, or receivers, but McCaffery would immediately become the 3rd best offensive player Brady has ever played with.

Which team will have the #1 draft pick? Will they need a quarterback? What would they be willing to trade their pick for?

John Harbaugh will need to prove himself again. Whomever comes out of the NFC will be war hardened ready to slay. This AFC slate is pretty tame. The Chiefs will be the Ravens only real competition & that's really only if Andy Reid calls in sick. Goff, Newton, Kaepernick... Jackson? Red hot in the season doesn't always prevail. A stinker by Jackson, an inexplicable miss by Tucker, something like that. It happened in the 2011 AFC Championship game where Billy Cundiff missed the 3 pointer against New England to tie which lost the game for Baltimore.

The Chargers would actually make the most sense. That franchise badly needs buzz in its own backyard, & they need as much as they can get before the new stadium. Brady would make enough off field money to offset capped money. Still, he'll be 43 next year. Does any team really want to start a 43yr old in an entirely new system?

The Pats already had a franchise QB in Jimmy Garappolo, but the Pats were stupid and traded away the younger franchise QB to keep a 40+ year old QB. And all they've done since is go to two superbowls, winning 1. Yeah, what a stupid decision. And the 1 Super Bowl they won since they traded Garappolo was the game in which the Rams scored just 3 points. Garappolo certainly could've scored more than 3 points against the Rams (and probably would've scored more than 13 points against the Rams) so they could've won that Super Bowl with Garappolo instead of Brady. And they would've had a young, franchise QB in Garappolo. So yes, it was a stupid decision to trade away a young, franchise QB to keep a 40+ QB since they got no benefit from it at all and lost a young QB that could've led the franchise for the next decade.

Nice. I didn't realize they gave out Superbowl trophies for 1 win. Hell, almost every QB in the NFL could have scored more than 3 points. Who cares about the games before that.
