Then you donโt know his numbers. According to baseball reference, the batters that he is most similar too are all hall of famers themselves except for Miguel Tejada and Jimmy Rollins. By age he is most similar to Gary Carter, Ivan Rodriguez, and Joe Torre, all HOFers themselves. He was excellent defensively as well. So he deserves it. Parkers numbers are better all round and Garveys similar to Simmons. Garvey played 1b and Parker the OF, two positions with a shit Ton more dominant offensive players. Not true at catcher, where Simmons was better than many of his peers.

Because theyโre not really HOF players. I mean yes, maybe compared to recent electees such as Baines and Trammell, but theyโre werenโt great or at least not great for long enough. Trammell definitely belonged in though. Those other guys - nope. jeff kent too.

Kent, if not a first balloter, should ahve gotten in on his second ballot. Yet he doesnt' even break 20%. The voters are morons.
