It was the coolest looking part of the trailer. If you are arguing the science of it, WW is a Greek Goddess. End of argument.

Hate it. We better get an extensive scene explaining how she learned and trained to lasso lightning. I like my lightning lassoing realistic only, thank you!

It’s a cool visual. It obviously doesn’t make any sense from a scientific standpoint, but comic books don’t care about adhering to science. Actually they kinda do. They bend physics and reality all the time of course, but modern superhero movies do take pains to try and come up with semi-plausible rationales for how they can do what they do. They don't usually start doing things with zero explanation behind it.

It looks awesome, but the closest we ever got to an explanation for it was Spider-Man pointing out that it made no sense.

Majority of what these superheroes do won't follow real world physics or science but they do follow some kind of in-universe logic. For example, we know Cap's shield being able to do what it does is a combination of the vibranium properties of redirecting energy plus Cap's throwing skills. Sure it's not realistic, but it does follow some sort of logic. Wonder Woman being able to ride the lightning would be more akin to Cap riding his shield like a hoverboard, or Hulk punching water into evaporation, or Wolverine cutting-up a cloud to make a sculpture.

Wrong, WW has magical Greek Goddess powers totally unlike Cap, Hulk, and Wolverine.

"Magical greek goddess powers" doesn't mean she can do anything and everything.

If you want an explanation, she is the daughter of Zeus, and we did see her manipulate lightning in the first one.

That’s kind of a random thing to ask. I’d consider something like that to be weird regardless of which superhero were to do it.

If Superman can blow out a star like a candle, then why not Wonder Woman swinging on lightning bolts?

I’d consider something like that to be weird regardless of which superhero were to do it. It's pretty much as weird as WW lassoing lightning. Hela can raise the dead. Hela is Thor's sister. So Thor using his lightning to raise the dead follows a similar logic to WW lassoing lightning.

Wonder Woman has already demonstrated the ability to manipulate lightning. That’s how she beat Ares.

If you want a semi logical explanation. Lightning is electricity which is a stream of negatively charged electrons. The repulsive nature of electrons when they get near other electrons is strong. It's so strong that when a star collapses on itself that repulsive nature keeps stars 1.5 massive than our sun from collapsing into an Neutron Star, so it forms a White Dwarf. (Over 1.5x massive the repulsion that neutrons vs neutrons form the pressure to battle gravity creating a Neutron Star. I think it's something like 2.5x massive our sun the neutron repulsion isn't strong enough so it forms into a black hole) Any way the repulsion of electrons causes a strong force. If she were able to manipulate lightning in the first movie then she can obviously electrify things. A decent enough electrified charge through the lasso would create a negatively charged field around the Lasso. She has super speed so she can whip it fast enough to wrap it around the bolt. When she whips the lasso around the lightning bolt you have a opposing electronic fields fighting against each other. Those 2 opposing fields would give something to solidly swing on. The same principle is what makes something solid in the first place. Two opposing Electro-Magnetic fields between atoms pushing against each other.
