I lived in the DC area when those two snipers were on the loose (2002?). Maybe three people killed within five miles of my place. I remember the snipers but as a rule most serial killers are white males and black people tend not to be serial killers so you're probably safe. Back in the mid-90s 2 Black teens - cousins - were convicted of murdering 2 sisters (one of them the former girlfriend of the 2 cousins), & in addition to the 2 sisters, one of the cousins also murdered an employee of the Toronto Transit Commission. The fact that this guy killed the third person makes HIM a serial killer. Adrian Kinkead & Rohan Ranger

Not now, but I did about two decades ago.
Lived in the same area where most of the crimes were committed, travelled the same routes the killers took to where their victims were hidden, even attended a part at a house next to where the bodies were later stored.

We all know blacks commit murder just like whites do. But the profile of the single male loner who murders usually women is of a white guy. But I think our culture is homogenized enough now that blacks are as affected as well.

They seem to have caught whatever disease white people have because there have been several black serial killers. LOL Best sentence ever!

No, but I wouldn't mind the emergence of a serial-killer. It's getting really crowded here where I live.

I'm not aware of any searches for a serial killer, now. But, the Bay Area lived through the infamous "Zodiac," whose identity has yet to be positively identified ... although, there are a handful of "possibles." And, as far as I know, they're all dead. So, I don't know if we'll ever be absolutely sure.
Richard Ramirez, aka "The Night Stalker," divided his time and efforts, between here, and southern California.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, the land of serial killers. Same here. In fact I live in the area where Bundy and Ridgeway preyed on their victims Excellent. You can regale unsuspecting strangers how you survived being in the midst of serial killers. *Also, don't forget about the I-5 serial killer.

Snowtown? (actually, I read people from Snowtown get annoyed about the murders associated with it, as its only connection to the killings was maybe 1 victim came from the town; the murders occurred elsewhere.)

We probably all do. The cops don't advertise it and some killers travel. I found out my hometown had a serial killer and no one knew because the cops didn't tell anyone until the guy was caught. Another one was caught during a routine traffic stop. He had been killing women in multiple states, got pulled for speeding or something, one thing led to another and the cop looked in the trunk where he found the standard murder kit.

Serial killers who lived in my home state or adjacent state. Indiana has Reverend Jim "kool-aid killer" Jones, Milwaukee Jeffrey Dahmer, Chicago suburbs John Wayne Gacy and Wisconsin Ed Gein, inspiration for "Leatherface" in "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"
