Legit, honest question stemming from the fact that I've seen two different dudes who are generally pro-MCU and all about it just today alone say that while they enjoy the films and don't begrudge Disney the right to make as many as they choose after Infinity War part II, they're out at that point; the story ends there for them. So it got me wondering: how many current MCU fans around here feel the same way and will stop paying to see new MCU content after Infinity War, part II?

Why would the story end there? There's literally an infinite amount of stories to explore in the MARVEL universe.

Don't think that Marvel can impress me, after Avengers 4. And with the possible death of of some characters like Iron Man, it will be more difficult.

Depends on what movies are released. Some may interest me, some may not.

So, this is obviously far from a scientific poll, but it doesn't seem to bode well for the next decade of MCU movies.

As long as they keep making films of interest to me, I'll probably keep paying to see them.
While I respect those who want some sense of closure to the story, I really don't feel the need to set an expiration date. I'll stop watching when it's time to move on. And, there is no way for me to know when that will be right now.

It's why I loved Logan so much. That's pretty much the end of the X-Men universe for me. I'll still see a few in the theaters, no doubt. But I won't go rushing out to do so. I might wait for them at to appear at the dollar theater. Or if I wait for the dvds, I'll just put them on my Netflix queue and not actually buy them. Infinity War will be the climax for me.

Right now, as far as I can tell, my answer is yes. Can the MCU jump the shark between now and IW, or afterwards? Yes. It's truly difficult to say in 2017 if I'll still be on board with any certainty, but right now everything still looks promising. I don't think anyone can really say until Phase 4 actually gets here.

I get saying you'll wait and see how it goes, that's fair. But saying you're commiting to not watching them? Why?
If I had to bet, phase 4 will have some of the most creative films they've done, because they'll have built up so much capital, and they have that sense of closure, they'll feel they have licence to do anything they want to.
You could end up seeing some of the craziest stuff in phase 4.

Furthermore, I don't think you'll find even the most ardent MCU critic call their product "half-assed." They've shown an incredible degree of discipline up until this point, and I think they would say that stuff like Guardians, Captain Marvel, and Doc Strange are all proactive/preemptive efforts to replace the Evanses and RDJs when they inevitably leave, presumably after the second Thanos movie.

As long as the quality remains where it's been, sure I don't see why I wouldn't. I never read the comics anyway, so whatever direction the MCU may take won't be shaded by my memories since it's all new to me.

I'm not convinced they're leaving at all. Why does everybody think they're all done? I can easily see them all continuing, at least on a cameo basis.

Let's say: when they're no longer in centerpiece sort of "featured" roles.

Yeah, that's even too strong. Let's say: when they're no longer in centerpiece sort of "featured" roles. That I could see. I honestly don't think RDJ is just going to walk away, but he may very well sign on for cameos only and get paid 20 mil for being a side character in everybody else's films. The great part about Iron Man is that age isn't an issue for the character. He could play the role till he's 65 easily. That's another 13 years.
