Not a big day for us, we're just having Stouffers meatloaf and Bob Evans mashed potatoes. The Saturday before Xmas WKD has requested a chuck roast, I haven't made one in years, looks like I'll have to drag out the slow cooker.

Making a trifle and maybe a couple more desserts as I'm going to my brother. Finally a year I'm not hosting. Other possible desserts: lemon cranberry squares and/or some kind of cheesecake.

My wife wants Cornish hens but I'm not excited about it. To me they are a novelty for children and several times the work for the same amount of food in a roasting chicken.
I was thinking stuffed pork loin roast or maybe Chinese or Korean style holiday food.

Growing up, my family always had a meatless Christmas Eve dinner featuring my mom's stuffed seasoned cabbage (not sauerkraut) pierogi's. My mom is gone and my sister will attempt to make those. My mom would make about 200 of them and they would disappear in about a half hour.

Not cooking other than breakfast. Xmas eve the town is having Xmas dinner for all, so we are taking advantage of someone else's work. Then Xmas day we will go to Dennys, they claim they are open 365 days a year.

A small group is going to dine out at a hotel restaurant. This will be the first time that I've had Christmas dinner at a restaurant, so I don't know if I'll really enjoy it, and look forward to doing it again ... or if I'll have the feeling that something is missing. I'll see. It's a lovely restaurant, and a fun group, so I don't expect to hate it.
The Dungeness crab season is finally underway, and I'll do cracked crab, Caesar salad and crusty French bread on Christmas Eve.
