Wow! this movie was genuinely pretty creepy! overall it had a stark gritty horror feel to it, probably not unlike what watching Halloween for the 1st time in 1977 might have felt like. Minimal use of soundtrack, and a dry matter of fact aspect made it surpringly pretty good. maybe not stellar but pretty good.
thematically, i felt a little uncomfortable. it made me wonder and worry if i'm a mysogynist.
i liked the scene where the girl was going door to door looking for her cat.
7/10

I sincerely doubt this gives any sort of feeling like the original Halloween did when it first came out.

Troll post!
This film is tanking at the box office, as expected. It was low budget though at around 5mill. It will be lucky enough to break even in its first week. Anything extra will perhaps pay for marketing costs. At any rate, it has shaped up to be a non-cracker, but that was as predicted. More feminist woke s<>t.

I like the director and enjoyed her previous work, especially the wpisode of into The Dark she did. Plus I was at an event were she talked about her work with such passion and level headedness ar the same time, it made me wanna follow her career. Ill give it a shot and take it for what it is.

I never know if you’re being serious or trolling. Their account is gone, so that probably answers that.

I went on thurs night and there were about 10 people in the whole theater. I still liked it tho.

I have been driven away because of the agenda that looks prevalent behind the film and how it has been seriously modified for a more accessible market. That is 2 cons right there for me. It is an agenda driven, virtue signalling propaganda film and way too obvious. If men made films in the same manner regarding male wokeness, would they get away with it?

Saw it a couple hours ago. It's better than the original and 2006 remake, even though it's Black Christmas in name only. It's really The Skulls: Christmas. Which I don't mind. I love The Skulls and I love Christmas.
It only got a D+ cinemascore because women are gender traitors. Yeah I said it.

The 1974 was classic horror. Creepy and scary and atmospheric, with the Best Movie Christmas Tree ever. And a sorority house big enough 15 corpses. It's got Andrea Martin and Margot Kidder and that lady who plays Mrs. Mac is to die laughing. "Claude, Goddamnit! You little prick! I'm going to have you fixed, Claude!"
And the most disturbed prank phone caller I have ever heard. The sick caller just has got to have some kind of multiple personality disorder. John Saxon shows up and it is a welcome sight.I also find some of the boys, like Nash as well as the cute guy whose been taking Claire out. The only two liabilities this movie are Keri Dullea, who is humorless and selfish and ends up bullying the mildly okay Jess.
There wasn't high on gore score, the movie makes up in suspense and tension and superlative atmosphere.
But now we've got the 2006 versions, 2016 and now 2019, and I don't be going to any of them.

It is apparently, and this is based on reviews I have read and some by females, that it is making out that men are vile, the worst and rapists and women are strong and dominant and will fight this toxic male culture. What kind of message is that? It doesn't look like it has any focus. Even slasher films from the past that sexualized both male and females, didn't make out that men were a force to be reckoned with. Most had a final girl that used her wits to outwit the killer.

I mean it kinda does, but in the end ita just a fictional movie.
