personally i think the James Bond franchise easily beats the vast majority of blockbusters out there today which are mostly super hero variations. James Bond movies are a pretty safe bet for me in general assuming they put a decent effort into them.

out of the 25 Bond movies though there is really only seven that stand out from the pack for me which are...

1.Skyfall (2012) - 8.5-9/10
2.Casino Royale (2006)
3.Licence to Kill (1989) - 8/10
4.Goldfinger (1964) - 7.5-8/10
5.Spectre (2015)
6.From Russia with Love (1963) - 7-7.5/10
7.Dr. No (1962) - 7/10

here is how i rank the rest of the Bond movies that i like...

8.The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) - 6-6.5/10
9.Thunderball (1965) - 6/10 (overall it's good but the underwater scenes hurt it's pacing which brings the movie down a bit.)
10.On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969)

--.You Only Live Twice (1967)
13.Quantum of Solace (2008)
14.The Living Daylights (1987) - 5.5-6/10 (the last 45minutes or so noticeably damage the rest of the movie)

so the series on the whole i like 14 out of the 25 Bond movies even though only 7 of them stand out for me in general as 7 of them are amongst my favorite movies in general.

p.s. i like both versions of The Magnificent Seven which is the 1960 and 2016 (both are a 7/10 for me). in fact, the 2016 one is my #1 movie of that year but ill have to see how it holds up on a re-watch.

That's a claim (in the bold text) i can't take seriously in general as it seems too many people claim a movie has 'bad acting' when they don't like a movie. in my mind... a high percentage of well known movies(or reasonably well known) tend not to have truly bad acting in them. sure, i can maybe see some weaker acting here and there in Goldfinger (and other Bond movies) but the acting on the whole definitely don't stand out in a negative way. but i will agree that some Bond movies contain some so-so acting here and there. but i think with the Odd-job character it does not really require much acting as it's more of a physical kind of acting with that character and i feel odd-job works well enough. but the movies are generally about the James Bond character and his adventures and i find the James Bond character to be more interesting then most movies and definitely more interesting then the vast majority of blockbuster types of movies out there.

also, i think Connery/Blackman (i.e. Goldfinger (1964)) have solid chemistry together on screen which, in my opinion, that level of chemistry with Bond and a Bond Girl has not been seen on that level until Casino Royale (2006) with Craig/Green. those two are the stand outs in terms of chemistry with each other on screen if you ask me but ill favor Blackman because i feel she's hotter than Green who does not really do much for me in terms of attractiveness where as Blackman has this charm etc about her which makes her attractive.
