Here's our May, a real feisty bun, enjoying a free range help yourself meal in one of my raised herb beds...

::hungry:: Rabbits are tasty(especially with herbs). My local butcher only sells French ones though, but they do the job

How many rabbits have you? May is a looker! May used to live with her soul mate George. Sadly George passed on. May is particularly dominant and feisty. Hard to find a new bun partner for her to bond with that she won't dominate and beat up. Will try again in Spring, with another candidate from a local small animal rescue. Rabbits pair bond for life. But they are individuals, and don't accept just any partner. You have to find personalities that might click, then do trial dating, to see if they get on.

Are they fixed, or do you have to find a home for dozens of little rabbits every year? Or is the stereotype false and rabbits don't actually breed like rabbits?

All animals are 'fixed' 👍 Interesting thing about rabbits. They do breed like rabbits as the saying goes. But they are self regulating. In times of scarcity, female rabbits spontaneously self abort, and miscarry their litter of kittens.

Got wild ones around where I live. They don't seem to get much to eat, they're emaciated, super skinny fodder for something, probably local coyotes who are just as skinny. But I do have to pick up a rabbit carcass every now and then, they make a small meal for something.
Neighbor across the way said he saw a bob tail mountain lion go into my back yard a couple of weeks ago. Went and had a look and saw nothing.

Might have a rescue tortoise coming to join our family. Waiting to hear if they need rehoming.
If they do, they are being called 'Alun'
