If that is indeed True then I am definitely happy about it.
I do like him but I was never a Fan of him doing an R-Rated "STAR TREK" Movie.

I was interested only because it would had been so random and odd. Like a "yeah we're really doing this" kind of thing.

It would have been weird and cool at the same time. But i always was skeptical because it always seemed impossible.

I want Quentin Tarantino to tackle the Sci Fi genre. It doesn't need to be Star Trek but I want to see him direct a Sci Fi movie.

I thought it would have been cool if Tarantino directed a Star Trek film. IMO he would have given that franchise a much needed boost (esp since Beyond underperformed at the box office. Not to mention Beyond was rather a bad movie too). Oh well.

I would definitely be interested in seeing it. However, I thought it was a long shot for it ever to actually happen. I'm not surprised it seems like it won't.

While I've had SOME issues with how Tarantino goes about his films, I can't deny that he's one talented/gifted mofo of a director. His ability to build tension thru slick/well thought out dialogue is something very special. Not to mention it'd be cool to see him tackle the sci fi genre.

I found it hard to believe it actually made it to theaters because everything about it felt like a tv made movie. You could definitely tell Abrams was missing from the movie after the first scene too.

Agreed. Sounds like a terrible, cash-hungry idea verging on gimmick for a director so committed to his own projects. He's one of he best original dialogue writers of his generation, that's his forte.

Nobody is waiting for a Star Trek movie with actors that talk for 2 hours and have a little bit of action at the end.

I kind of see it both ways...
I want him to make it in the sense that maybe he can make Star Trek interesting but at the same time I am not that disappointed if he does not make it because it's still Star Trek at the end of the day which is not that interesting of a subject matter and I would rather see QT's talent towards something else.
