Newgrange Neolithic tomb in Ireland predates Stonehenge by 1,000 years, and the pyramids by 400 years.
The Neolithic people who built it were master astronomers.
They accurately built it in alignment with the solar calendar.
There is a slot above the entrance, and the only single time of the year when the sun shines through the slot, and illumates the whole length of the tomb's corridor is at sunrise on midwinter solstice... For just a few brief minutes once a year.
