I would say no. I don’t particularly care for him as a director one way or the other, but I have no interest in seeing what his hypothetical take on Superman would be like.

Sure I’d like to see it. The general audience seem to know him for directing space type movies handling multiple characters. Visually stunning but overall up and down. I say yes for Superman because he would be able primarily focus on one character majority of the time.

I guess he’d recycle material from the Flyby script?

Not really, I'd personally like him to do something non sci-fi/action related, something outside of a big franchise for once. He's been in the franchise machine for such a long time now. Also, while he's great at kinetic storytelling (Star Trek and TFA), he's not that great with plot. Ofc there would be other writers besides JJ, but I think Superman needs someone who's a bit more writing focused besides their directing capabilities. If he's attached to a future Superman project, just put him on the directing job and let someone else do the writing.

NO just NO! Neither "directing" (ie rushed pacing, chaos action, erratic editing, overacting, lense flares, monochrome cinematography and color grading...) nor "writing" (ie fanfiction-level efforts lazily pandering to the lowest common denominator). Now, I have become death, the destroyer of franchises. Star Trek and Star Wars send their obituaries.

Sure, why not? His directing wasn’t a problem in ‘The Rise of Skywalker’.

Sure, why not? His directing wasn’t a problem in ‘The Rise of Skywalker’. yes, it was. That's why. - Extremely rushed pacing, - Shallow acting (shouting) performances, including buddy-overcasting - Messy and disorientated action scenes (nothing iconic here) - Questionable cinematography (like seizure-inducing monochromatic lighting and ugly color grading, hell the entire third act is a colorless, blue-grey mess). - Lens flares galore (creating a separate sub-category) He is a hack.

LOL - Tristan's Journal complaining about JJ Abrams overusing lens flares in his movies when Man of Steel and BvS used a sh!t ton of them as well (Their other reasons, sure, their opinion and what not...)

For me, he’d definitely be one of my top choices. I think he’d do a good job with the character.

He'd be a solid choice but not quite my first one;I'd actually prefer if he did Green Lantern or New Gods. My preferred picks would be someone like the Russo brothers or Brad Bird or Justin Lin or Matthew Vaughn though.

Now you mention it, you're probably right that Abrams is a better fit for a Green Lantern film than a Superman film.
