Jerry Maguire - My DVD actually has a video commentary of Cameron Crowe, Tom Cruise, Renee Zellweger, and Cuba Gooding Jr. While you watch the movie, you get to actually watch the actors as they watch the movie at the same time. It's pretty fun to watch them crack up over the comedic moments of the movie. Most of them hadn't watched the movie in years.

Good idea for a thread and an area I have neglected. When I run out of movies to watch I must go back and re-watch some of them with commentary.

I extract commentaries and put them into my mp3 audiobook rotation.
Ken Russell is often funny but shams (?) drunkeness, as for LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM.
Eddie Muller on many film noir titles.
Twilight Time's Nick Redman and Julie Kirgo are sometimes inconsistent, but I'll always give them a listen. Redman was part of a great gang commentary for JUNIOR BONNER.
Director Roland Joffé for THE MISSION, unscripted and very thoughtful.
Likewise, Jean-Jacques Annaud with THE NAME OF THE ROSE.
Many others.

The John Cork commentaries for the Sean Connery Bond films are composed of interviews from years ago, which is understandable as a lot of the cast and crew have died. Not sure if it's the accent, but i find his commentaries pleasant to listen to.
I'll try and think of some more and post them here soon.

probably Fincher's stuff, I thought it was funny how he teased Regency's logo back in his "Fight Club" commentary then once again during his commentary for "Gone Girl"

BUBBA HO-TEP has several commentaries, one of which is Bruce Campbell as Elvis: "I made 31 pictures, not one of them a horror film. Well... HARUM SCARUM, that was pretty scary".

Big Trouble in Little China - Feels just like hanging out with John and Kurt. Robocop: Anniversary Edition - Real insight in to Verhoeven's process and the film's satirical drive. Blood Simple - Kenneth Loring's'appreciation' of their debut is like a hidden Coen's movie in its own right. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure -Great to hear the cast and writers pinpoint why the film is so well loved. Zodiac - Lots of input from the cast about the narrative choices that make the film so original. Homicide: Criterion Edition - Dryly amusing reflections from David Mamet. His sign off line is priceless.

One of my favorite dvd audio commentaries was the one that Anthony Minghella did for Truly, Madly, Deeply. He not only directed the movie, but he wrote the story and he did it with Juliet Stevenson in mind. His commentary was full of why he did what, and what he was thinking about when he did it.

I rarely listen to commentaries, but I enjoyed the one for "Das Boot" (one of my favorite films).

Cameron had a nice one for T2 as well as for Aliens. I haven't heard his Titanic commentary, but I've heard that's pretty good too.

LOTR EE trilogy
Citizen Kane \ Casablanca / Ebert's on both
Stand By Me 20th - Reiner, Wheaton, & Feldman
Alas I think the golden age of commentaries is over... the advent of DVD everyone was doing them, fewer & fewer since. I wished Spielberg would do them, he says his films are his commentary. Harry Potter saga would've been nice.
This is Spinal Tap commentary is as most suggest even funnier than the film itself.

That one is pretty great. I love how he keeps mispronouncing the director Don Coscarelli's name as Coscarisi throughout the commentary.
