The upper deck in the outfield was called "Mount Davis". No one sat there. Covered in baseball and covered in football
Nice tarps though

Looks so much nicer there before Mt Davis was erected.
That's what it looked like when I saw Pink Floyd there in 1994. Except for the melting seats I saw in my condition that night. 🤩

Being an A's fan in the early 90's, that's how I remember the stadium when watching games on tv. It's more or less an abomination now.

...and so I looked it up at Wikipedia and thus I learned that it cost only 500 million to build it - Mount Davis, not the Coliseum.
And by now it is used for advertising and the Raiders are moving to Las Vegas. *hahaha
PS: The awesome stadium of the Vikings cost roughly twice as much as this over sized advertising stand.

Oakland sold it's soul to get the Raiders back. I used to think Al Davis was right. The Raiders were a business and anyone can move their business to a better location if they desire. But he lost the plot later in life. The Raiders from 1967 to 1985 were as well run of an organization in sports. Four conference titles, three Super Bowl titles. In a conference with the Dolphins and the Steelers. Every thing they touched seemed to turn to gold. So many players they brought in that were "over the hill" and got good years from them. Darryl Lamonica, Ted Hendricks, Lyle Alzado, Jim Plunkett. Now the organization can't do anything right.

I finally gave up on them saying "I'll come back after the old man dies..." Of course, now Mark is an even bigger idiot. I coincidentally became an A's fan around the same time ( my all time favorite player is Rickey ) so for many years, St Louis was my NL city and Oakland was my AL.

The old Raiders were as close to a "2nd team" in any sport I had. They had some local players. Marv Hubbard was from Salamanca, NY and Fred Biletnikoff was from Erie, PA. They were a fun team to watch. many great games. The "Heidi Game" (one of my earliest sports memories), the "Holy Roller" game. So many great characters. Ben Davidson, Ted Hendricks, Jack Tatum, Ken Stabler, John Madden, Lyle Alzado. Now they're wallpaper.
