Probably Halloween. Spent many years on IMDB talking about that one. And I never get tired of discussing the ins and outs of all the movies in the series, as bad as a lot (most) of them are.

um, either one of these two very different but layered masterworks Themes: - Meaning of each of the 4 monoliths - Evolution of mankind - What is the "Intelligence" - How did AI evolve into human imperfection (Hel is the third best villain in movie history) - soundtrack Or, on the more pulpy-cerebral front: Themes: - Systematic dismantling and downfall of democracy and liberty - The anatomy and forces behind war - Rise of demagogues (Palps is the best movie villain ever) - Failure to let go and destroying what one loves (Anakin & the tragedy of Darth Plagueis) - Corruption of the heroes so that evil wins (order 66) - Erosion of values and friendship into extremism (you are either with me or my enemy, only a Sith deals in absolutes) - Soundtrack

Prob Pulp Fiction. It’s been in my top 5 or so since I watched it properly and I’m a big Tarantino fan so it always comes up when he does.

The only one comparable re themes and tone would be Empire, but the latter is episodic and in itself unresolved. Also, Sith is one of the very few sci fi flicks that work well with women, which is always a plus for me.

"The Invisible Man" w/Claude Rains, a movie debut where you don't get to see the starring actors face until the final scene. He went on to a storied career in film.

Don't laugh. Two that no one else will say Eight Men Out because of my fascination with the 1919 World Series. And the bundle of made up crapola in Asinof's book and the movie. How can't you talk about Plan 9? The great dialogue, the jaw dropping special effects, the noteworthy performances And it's pure coincidence that the films are 8 and 9 sequentially
