Just occasionally and NOT in a LONG time.

Wasn’t he the guy a few years ago that made the “nappy-headed hoes” comment?

Wasn’t he the guy a few years ago that made the “nappy-headed hoes” comment? That's right. That's what most people know him for these days and what effectively caused his career to decline.

I used to hear him on WNBC when I took basic training at Fort Dix in '71. Over the years, he got a little too smug about pushing the boundaries.

You want in your face radio? Tune in to Mancomw Muller on 890AM radio in Chicago. Imus delivery was lame compared to this guy. I guess the broadcasting rules have drastically changed over the years.

I listened to Imus quite a bit in the late 80's and early 90's when he was on WFAN in New York. His show was hilarious. He had just gotten out of rehab and he was so hilariously grumpy in those days. His grumpiness seemed to be more of an act as the years went on, but in those years it seemed more legitimate.
He was always 2nd fiddle to Howard Stern in New York radio, and they had a very long feud with each other. No doubt, Imus stole some of his routine from Stern, but Imus was still very funny in his own right.
And before he got into trouble with his comments about the Rutgers women's basketball team, his morning show on MSNBC featured MANY Washington DC bigwigs, who distanced themselves from Imus after he got into trouble.

I never really tuned into the talk-show scene, really. I'm always too busy. But my late mother used to watch his Imus In The Morning show a lot, so I'd occasionally glance at it whenever I was over visiting.

Wasn’t he the guy a few years ago that made the “nappy-headed hoes” comment? Oh yes, I remember that. I thought his name sounded familiar, but I couldn't remember where or how.
