I mostly liked it, but didn’t love it. Armas was amazing, though. It’s nice to see her get a role with some opportunity to showcase her talent.

Vits I totally disagree as long as one as seen at least a fair portion/gives a movie a reasonable chance to be watchable on some level. because if a movie is truly boring for any legitimate length of time, it's obviously a total failure and is safe to write it off and give it a very low score. because as I always say... boring is pretty much the worst crime a movie can commit. trust me, I am not the only person around here who has a similar opinion. as a general rule for me... I give a movie at least 30min+ (I rarely go below 30min) before writing it off as totally boring but I usually try to aim for around 40 minutes before writing it off. because 30-40min is not a small portion of a movie and if it's like watching paint dry for that length of time, major damage is done to the movie. for the record... only about 7% (roughly 160 movies or so) of ALL movies I have seen managed to fall into boring status. or look at it this way... even if I forced myself to finish that movie, there is a high probability it would be getting a 2/10 like I just gave it.
p.s. the only time I rate movies I have not finish are ones that are boring which default to my usual 2/10 score as I reserve 1/10's for movies I greatly dislike which are sort of worse than boring. but as a general rule, boring is basically the worst crime a movie can commit.

The family was just one “saying the b-word” away from being white supremacists. It terrifies me these people exist.

There are plenty of movies out there where things pick up after a slow start. There are also movies that get worse as they go along. There are even movies where the ending itself ends up changing one's overall opinion on the movie. So... No, I don't agree with you. If you're taking time of your day to watch a movie, it's because you already had that free time in the first place. Why not use all of it? Were you that busy that you couldn't give it another hour or so? You may not work as a critic for a living, but you post on a forum daily using a complex rating system. Don't you want to be taken seriously as a critic? The family was just one “saying the b-word” away from being white supremacists. It terrifies me these people exist. Well, not all of them.

It's by far my favorite movie of the year. For so long I've missed the mid-budget Hollywood movie.

I got to be honest, I dumped it @ 30min due to boredom. 2/10 (boring) I wouldn't go that far, but I see what you're saying. A great cast that mostly does nothing, and a whodunnit that tells you everything that happened at the beginning of the film. The only 'twist' is obvious from the moment that character becomes involved with the central protagonist. And it's fine if you're going to make your film a commentary on immigration, but don't be so lazy as to insert a conversation where the characters literally argue about Trump and his stance on immigration. Trust your audience, don't insult them by beating them over the head with the already obvious subtext.

Only a moron would rate a movie he has seen less than 1/4 of. Kthxbye.

I mean i'd actually dock points for wasting certain actors, you could've probably merged Lakeith Stansfield and Noah Segan's characters as an example. Also Shannon, Martell, and Lindhome are wasted a little.
