Anybody remember this? That had some real drama on there and some real characters. In the 80's I mean. I've never seen the other versions

It's really nothing but small-claims court, like JUDGE JUDY, except that Judge Lynn Nolan seems incapable of keeping order in the courtroom. What's especially pathetic is that most of the litigants are African-Americans who could accurately be termed "ghetto trash", what with their tats, piercings, bling, and arrogant attitudes. These people feed white prejudices as much as the "Boondocks" comic strip! Actually, I haven't watched any courtroom TV shows in a number of years. This show especially turned me off them.

small claims court with nobody getting on the stand and no dramatic stories? That's lame. I wouldn't watch that. The old school one was a real court room drama

Yeah, but at least it shows black people DO marry and are not just baby mama/daddy situations.

Either way it's still just a dramatization. The least they could do is make it entertaining.

Never seen the 80s version. I've only seen the one with Judge Mablean and Lynn Toler. The funniest one was with Judge Lynn Toler doing a case on a multiracial couple. Judge Toler called the husband a "multicultural porn watcher" because he watches porn films that only featured Asians, Latinos, and Black performers. The wife, who is White, got upset that her husband only watches porn films that doesn't feature White performers. And on top of it, the husband was complaining that he was having a bad day, and Judge Toler said, "How you could be having a bad day? You got no job and spend all your time watching porn."

The old school one was a real court room drama I don't think it is much like a small claims court like Judge Judy. Most of the couples featured are about infidelity issues and petty matters.

I'd have to really watch it then. I just remember how dramatic it was at the time. It obviously felt like you were watching actors, which you were, but it was very entertaining

I remember a version from the SIXTIES that I used to watch as a boy. Like the Eighties version, the cases were acted out by actors. In an episode from the Eighties, I remember seeing Ken Foree from the original "Dawn of the Dead" playing a cheated-upon husband. At the end, the wife punched the husband because she lost.
