Staccato But I don't know how to do the "Spoiler: Click to Show" feature.
For future reference : Type your note and highlight the "secret stuff" and click the last little emoti-icon on the far right. It's a smily with its fingers to its lips. AND Voila !

but remove the spaces.

StaccatoMany thanks for your solution, and I hope you stay in our little "puzzle group"! (I tried to get "puzzle pals" to stick, but so far, no luck... ) I think that you're right, or very close to it. I'll be honest and say that I don't have all that mathematical of a mind, so I tried not to work at the numbers or something like that.
Thanks again, Salzmank

Sorry it took so long to get back. It's been an unusually busy Saturday. Staccato makes a valid point in that overall I got a better deal in total on the shirts than I would have gotten if they were all "Buy two, get one free." But my mind still separates the two sets of purchases - $10.98 shirts are great bargain no matter how many or few I get, but the $20 shirts only averaging $16 per shirt because I got five still came off as a bad deal to me.
Rather, something specific happened when the cashier tried to ring up the two shirts I was returning for a credit.

You hadn't been charged for the two shirts you tried to return?

Close enough! You've got it. It was actually just one of the shirts that I hadn't been charged for. But that meant I had actually gotten 6 shirts and two of them were free. Thus I was now satisfied with my purchase even though I hadn't gotten anything back that I didn't already have. Just the psychology of knowing I'd gotten a good deal on the $20 shirts after all.

It could be because I'm a new feller on the block. Not allowed to message the elite. Unless the elite message me first.

Ah, you young whippersnappers... Pardon this member of the elite whilst he polishes his yachting trophy collection and talks like Thurston Howell III...

As I'm back in the junior ranks, here's a junior puzzle which I'm sure all you seniors and elites can answer. It's from a puzzle site...so no cheating! ----------------------- Delinquent Decision Five children were playing kickball. One of the five broke a window. When questioned about the incident, each child made three statements of which two were true and one was false. The statements are given below. Joe: 1. I didn’t do it. 2. Sally will tell who did it. 3. One of us is in big trouble. Matt: 1. Joyce did it. 2. I didn’t do it. 3. I don’t even like to play kickball. Vince: 1. I didn’t do it. 2. Joyce and I are good friends. 3. Sally doesn’t know who did it. Joyce: 1. Matt lied when he said I broke the window. 2. I never saw Vince before today. 3. I never broke a window in my life. Sally: 1. I saw Joyce break it. 2. I didn’t break the window. 3. I want to go home. -------------- Who broke the window?

I saw Joyce break it. 2. I didn’t break the window. 3. I want to go home. -------------- Who broke the window?Ah, good ol' deductive logic. It's been a while since I've done a pure logic puzzle (in fact, I think your "ABC"/art theft one was the last one I did), so here goes nothing--for preliminary thoughts, that is: Joe's third statement is true ipso facto, which means that one of his other statements must be the lie. If 2 is true, then 1 is the lie, and Joe is the person who broke the window. If 2 is the lie, however, then Joe is out, and we open up a new line of inquiry.
If 2 is false, then Vince's 3 is true. If Vince's 3 is true, then Sally's 1 is false. If Sally's 1 is false, then Sally's 2 is true, and Sally did not break the window.
She's out too.
As Vince's 3 is true (by the logic chain we're following here), then his 1 or 2 must be the lie.
If Vince's 2 is the lie, then Vince is out--and Joyce's 2 is true.
Therefore: 1 or 3 of Joyce's statements is true. If 1 is true, then Joyce is out. But wait a second: if Joyce's 1 is true, then Matt's 1 is the lie--which means that he didn't do it--which lets off all the suspects! Therefore, Joyce's 1 cannot be true. 2 and 3 must be true; 1 must be false. That would put the blame on Joyce.
Therefore I cannot decide if it is Joe or Joyce, but I'm fairly sure that it's one or the other. Now I know my logic is incorrect somewhere...

Delinquent Decision I started with Matt saying Joyce did it. But for Joyce to have done it, she would have to be telling 2 lies (1&3). So she is innocent. And since Matt lied in saying she did it, the rest of his statements are true and he is also innocent. Sally is lying when she said Joyce did it, but that makes her other statements true so she is innocent as well. Joe said that Sally would tell them who did it, which was his iie. But his statement of innocence must then be true. So by default, Vince did it. He was being truthful about Joyce and he being good friends making the statement that she never saw him before today her lie. Death in the Car. The car had electronic windows. He was shot through the open (or partially open) window and the impact caused his arm to violently twitch and hit the switch raising up the window. Likely, that's not what you were looking for.
