I have had this delightful food one time. It does not appear to be available in restaurants in my area, so here's my question: If I make it, do I have to get a lobster? I think one can get lobster in the frozen food aisle, but I don't even know how to 'harvest' the meat. Would it be worth making with canned lobster? or should I just make it like a tomato bisque?? any suggestions? thanks!

I've never made it,but go to youtube and search and you'll get all kinds of recipes, and step by step instructions. As for 'canned' lobster,no.most unrefridgerated canned seafood tastes like canned tuna. That said, I've never seen 'cold packed' lobster, but I get 'cold packed' crab for crabcakes and it's as good as fresh,so maybe it would be okay. However,it's all kinda expensive so you'd be rolling the dice....

I think I will just try tomato bisque. Wonder if it would be good with crab
