American musician Max Crook has left us at the age of 83, on July 1st. :format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(90)/discogs-images/A-3210556-1518072942-5088.jpeg.jpg) A pioneer of electronic music in pop. He was the featured soloist on Del Shannon's 1961 hit "Runaway", which he co-wrote and on which he played his own invention, the Musitron. He also recorded as Maximilian. "Runaway" appears on many soundtracks. He also wrote the opening credits music for the TV-series Crime Story 1986 - 1988. R.I.P. Max Crook

He won the Best Picture Oscar for Ordinary People 1980, and was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar for A Soldier's Story 1984.
