I just hope they find somebody - anybody- and make a Superman sequel soon. It's going on ten years since Man of Steel.

James Gunn would be even worse than JJ Abrams. A lot.

James Gunn would be even worse than JJ Abrams. A lot. Gunn is a good friend of Zack Snyder and is a fan of and defender of his take on Superman. He wouldn't make the movie in the same way as Guardians of the Galaxy or Super or Slither.

I remember him having made a pretty snarky comment about BvS having an R-rated extended cut. Yeah, they're good friends. Gunn wrote the remake of Dawn of the Dead which Snyder directed, Snyder attended the premiere for Gunn's film Slither. Gunn has praised Snyder plenty of times and shown fondness for take on Superman, a more recent example being an interview/Q&A for Brightburn. Also, on Vero Snyder has liked all postings relating to James Gunn being rehired by Marvel for Guardians Vol. 3 and directing The Suicide Squad.

Weird to see DC-Fan like comments not in favor of James Gunn working on a DC movie, yet they're looking forward to The Suicide Squad a movie James Gunn IS making.

I didn't like Snyder's take on the DC characters but I also didn't totally hate it. But that Dawn of the Dead movie was one of Snyder's better films and I can't help but wonder what Man of Steel would've been like if it had been written by Gunn and directed by Snyder.
Because as much as I love Guardians of the Galaxy, I can understand why some others don't appreciate the humor, especially when it comes to Volume 2, but I feel he just went "fully loaded Gunn" on those. With stuff like Dawn of the Dead and Super he was a little more reined in with that kind of humor. Him and Snyder could've probably found a great balance.

He turned it down because he would rather do Superboy.

Again, what makes you think Gunn would do any of that? He was offered to make a Superman movie for the DCEU, he is a good friend of Zack Snyder and is a fan of his version of the character.
