Bon Jovi, "Bed of Roses": "With an iron clad fist, I wake up and French kiss the morning."

I always cringe whenever I hear the Black Eyed Peas recite the days of the week in "I Got a Feeling."

The idea of bad lyrics doesn't really make sense to me. Probably because I don't believe that lyrics should be doing anything in particular, should be any way in particular. Ultimately I just see them as words or sounds to sing, and any words or sounds work. Of course, there are lyrics I like a lot more than others, but it just makes no sense to me to think of any lyrics as bad.

What would you say is bad about the "Friday" lyrics? Why is that bad in your view? Obviously if I don't think it even makes sense for lyrics to be bad, simply copy-pasting lyrics isn't going to make it obvious to me.

If the quality in writing doesn't speak for itself, nothing I can say will make a difference. Right, but I'm just curious what's bad about it in your view. As I said, and I wasn't joking, or just saying it on a lack of familiarity with the subject matter, I have no conception of bad lyrics. I don't think it's really possible for there to be bad lyrics on my view. But I also don't understand what people who do feel there can be bad lyrics are looking for with lyrics that they're not getting with the stuff they think is bad. I also often don't understand why people think that lyrics are good when they think that. There are lyrics that I like far more than other lyrics, but often the lyrics I like are not what other people seem to like.
