6/10. Pretty much a rehash of the first film.

I don't think I can overly critique a movie like this. It is what it is, a silly movie made for a young audience so I gave it 8/10.

8/10 and it's one of the few sequels which was as good or better than the first.

I give it a 6/10. Almost a paint-by the numbers copy of the first one. I don't care if it was made for kids, at least try to make something different. Just changing a few minor things here and there does not make it a completely new movie.

8/10. I took a few stars away due to some of the ridiculous scenarios that take place.
Here's what bugs me about the sequel:
• Damn, the parents really are idiots. The original was believable, but running ahead of your kid and not making sure he's accounted for is just plain stupid. They should have been arrested for child negligence the second time around.
• Would the flight attendants really let Kevin onto the plane, even though the tickets were jumbled up? I could have sworn they look at it when you board to make sure you sit in your assigned seating area, even if this was pre-9/11. I know he said his dad was there, but you'd think somebody would have went up to the fake father to confirm they're related.
• Kevin uses his father's credit card to rent a hotel room? I know the employees are supposed to be a bunch of dolts but, who in their right mind would let an underage kid check into a room? I thought you had to be at least 18 years of age? It would be a lawsuit waiting to happen without a signature from an adult, much less using a credit card that's not even under your own name.
• Harry and Marv are still wearing the same clothing! How?!? Did they swipe them from a guarded room before escaping? I understand that they're not the brightest bulbs in the box but, you'd think criminals would have the sense to change their appearances, especially if you're fugitives on the run.
• It just so happens that Harry and Marv run into Kevin on the exact same location, date, and time. Okay. Why would they even be looking for Kevin? You're in a different state for crying out loud! What are the odds you'd bump into him? A billion to one? Searching for him in a huge city some 800 miles from where he resides would have been the last thing on my mind. Such a contrived plot device.
• Rob Schneider's character spying on Kevin and his father? Creepy. I'm shocked that the Plaza Hotel let them portray their concierge service as a bunch of peeping toms.
• That must have been one hell of a cassette player with a recording of Uncle Frank played from that tiny speaker. I don't remember my Walkman sounding as though it had studio recording capabilities.
• Nobody calls the police? Why not? The hotel staff just took it upon themselves to investigate the situation? Nah, don't buy it, which leads me to...
• Supposed gunfire and nobody thinks to get the hell out of dodge? Surely somebody would have done something. You'd think opening fire (fake or not) would have people yelling and screaming for their lives. You're supposed to evacuate the entire hotel! There's a madman on the loose! Send the damn SWAT team out there! Pull the fire alarm! Anything!
• The violence...wow, they really turned it up a few notches. I know the first movie was a bit farfetched, but I still understood and loved everything about it. Now, they're literally being hit over the head with objects that should have killed them or rendered them unconscious in the first place.
• Talk about violence, the ending was beyond insane. Pointing a loaded weapon at a child? Did the writers just kinda run out of ideas and decide that murdering Kevin in cold blood was the last resort? This is Home Alone. It's supposed to be a kid-friendly, feelgood film. It got dark way too fast. (BTW, this is the main aspect of the sequel that really irritates me. Harry and Marv are thieves, not killers. I wonder what was going through Joe Pesci's mind at the time...)
• So, his mother knew exactly where Kevin would be in a city that never sleeps? Well, I guess everybody must have been dozing off at that point since there's no pedestrians or vehicles on the road, other than the cop scene with his mom.
• Home alone? Not really, at least for the first two acts of the film.
• Overall, same plot, different location.
I get it, this movie wouldn't have existed if the above didn't happen, but it comes off as some sort of a box office cash-grab. The original should have been a standalone film. Though, I do love Duncan's Toy Chest, and Brenda Fricker (Pigeon Lady) was so sweet and caring.
I think John Hughes was losing his marbles back then. He was also behind the idea of Home Alone 3 (1997), and we all know how that turned out.

7/10 because we get to see our Lord and Savior Donald Trump for 10 seconds . Other wise it's a 4-5/10

Prolly objectively closer to a 3 or 4, but I'm going 6/10 because I'm a sentimental mark for this movie.

8/10. It recycles too many plot points from the first movie, but it is still super enjoyable.
