Re watched this movie and what a performance! hes amazingly relaxed and grounded, with his performance feeling very lived in, as if hes been playing Cherry for years. A favorite nomination of mine actually.

A great performance, probably the most humane and sympathetic in a Tarantino movie. He should have won the Oscar.

Max Cherry is my favorite character in any Tarantino movie. He's the audience surrogate, and also the smartest guy in the room. Maybe it's a weird thing to admit, but I just think this character is the ultimate man, and often times when I'm feeling anxious or disposed to reacting to something in an immature way I find myself thinking about Max Cherry, thinking how would he react to this? What would he say and do in this situation? There have been times in my life people have asked me how I'm able to stay so level headed when things are chaotic at work, and I just say "you just gotta relax", the real answer is "I'm boiling inside, but I've seen Jackie Brown enough times to know how Max Cherry would behave".

I'm glad Tarantino wanted Forster for the role. This role really reinvigorated his career. He was one of the greats in my opinion.
