I was spanked with a belt on the butt maybe twice in my childhood. I was never hit by my parents other than that. So no, I do not count two belt spankings in eighteen years as physical abuse.

I also was spanked on the ass, and if I had to call that abuse of any kind, I would call it sexual abuse rather than physical. As an adult I realize now that my parents didn’t intend anything sexual, and wrongly assumed I was afraid of the physical pain, but from my perspective as a kid, let’s just say I was confused and embarrassed in a way I wouldn’t wish on anybody. |

The old rule was to spank your kid with an open hand on the ass. People seem to have mixed feelings about a belt. Any other type of hitting of a child was called abuse. Like I said, my dad only hit me with a belt twice, so I can't call that abuse. I don't consider spanking on the butt to be sexual though. It's the only safe padded place to spank a kid.

The worst beatings I had were when my dad would beat me in the head. Those were when he was really pissed, like 4-5 times. One time he hit me so hard I pissed my pants.
As far as objects go, I got hangers and belts. Hangers sucked because my mom would keep hitting me even after they broke and they'd scratch the shit out of me. My grandmother once put a cigarette out on me.
Then there's my "little" brother, who's about 280 but he has Asperger's so I wasnt allowed to defend myself when he attacked me or I'd be threatened with the police and being thrown out (which is what ended up happening). One time he was slamming my head into the kitchen floor, and I kept my hands up the whole time because I knew I'd be in trouble if I did anything.

I had an ex that whipped my ass a couple times. I guess it should have felt like a bigger deal than it did.

No. I had to endure a lot of mental abuse in the course of my life, but people were always too afraid to openly confront me by physically assaulting me.
