In the old days, Hollywood thought nothing of putting a middle-aged person in the role of a kid/teenager. In the 80s and 90s they got a little better, where you'd have maybe a 25 year old playing a high school student.

The whole main cast of The Big Bang Theory. Just learned recently that the actress who plays Amy Farrah Fowler is 44! I'd assumed she was in her 30s max.

Nicholas Brandon was in his mid-20s playing a 16 year old Xander when Buffy the Vampire Slayer began in 1997. Alysson Hannigan was also in her 20s yet portraying a 16 year old.

I had thought the actors in CHRISTINE all seemed much older than teenagers but I see that "Buddy Repperton" was only a few years out of high school.
I would have guessed William Ostrander was 30.
