I hadn't seen a thread on this so ....
Yeah. It sucks. Nothing at all original about this movie. That's probably not saying much about a sequel though. Still though , it's just a run of the mill FX and CGI driven , Hollywood fodder. It's nothing NEW for these films to be made but unlike similar movies ie Armageddon, 2012, or other Alien or Apocalypse movies, his has no heart or interesting characters. It's like , you don't CARE if anyone dies at all. The first movie kinda invests you in the characters a bit more. This one is just following the current trend less story , more explosions. That is all

That said. It's still better than Battleship. I actually agree with that. Battleship is one of the 10 worst movies I have ever seen. You know what you get when you rip-off Michael Bay? A movie twice as bad as any movie Michael Bay has ever made. Independence Day 2 is one of the absolute laziest movies I have ever seen (I don't even think this movie had a screenplay) and you know something is wrong when you are bored by Jeff Goldblum. I would go as far as to say that 10,000 B.C. and Godzilla are masterpieces by comparison. |

It is a quality film, but absolutely NOT better than the unadulterated masterpiece that is Battleship, like some trolls say.
