I mean the regular family evening meal time. We eat around 5. I suspect that it's earlier than most people so I'd like to find out.

Lately, it's been after 4pm. The ideal time for me would be 2 or 3pm though.

It's nice to see that your family regularly eats together. That was the case, when I was growing up.
Now, I make all of the decisions ... 'cause it's just me. And, I generally time dinner for 6:00 - 6:30. I don't have large dinners. I usually have a small piece of chicken/chop, and some steamed veggie. I do have a "target time" (7:30), when I want to have the kitchen cleaned, and set up for the morning, which is nothing more than the tea kettle filled, and a tea bag draped into my mug. Not complicated.
I often meet friends for dinner, usually at a casual neighborhood restaurants. Among those friends, we pretty much all agree that earlier is best. If 5:00/5:30 is opening time, we go for it.

For 2nd shift types I would imagine the following is pretty close for most people...
-Breakfast = 10am or so (I am not really a breakfast person) -Lunch = 1-3pm -Dinner/Supper = 5-7pm
I would say about 6:30-7pm or so for me personally when it comes to Dinner/Supper but it can vary a bit.
p.s. in general though I usually eat 2-3 meals a day with some side snacks. but usually ill eat a decent sized meal and go between 4-6 hours before the next meal.

Usually between 5:00 and 6:00.
I made the joke to my father that I would probably offend anyone in Portugal with regards to the time that I eat dinner.
My brother and my sister-in-law went there for a business trip (my brother's work). My sister-in-law said something to the effect of "don't even think about having dinner before even 8:00pm".

I'd prefer to eat between 5-6, but we usually eat between 6:30-7:30 due to my wife's work schedule....

I mean the regular family evening meal time. We eat around 5. I suspect that it's earlier than most people so I'd like to find out. in my original family it was ALWAYS, RIGIDLY ALWAYS 5:30. Every day. It used to annoy me. In my new family it’s anytime anyone wants to eat, sometimes we eat together sometime we don’t, most times it’s around 8pm. I miss the old routine

On the workdays: breakfast: I never eat breakfast on workdays lunch: around noon dinner: 6 pm supper: 11 pm So dinner and supper are two DIFFERENT meals for YOU?
