The movie itself was terrible but the performance was outstanding. The most interesting thing about her performance is how unlikely it originally was to picture Renee Zellweger (of all people) playing Judy Garland (of all people). But she did really well, and she did her own singing in the film too. She's come a long way.

I remember that Botox moment from a few years back when her otherwise squinty eyes looked bigger than usual. But she looked pretty good at the Globes on Sunday night (face and body). She's 50 now and it seems that she's toned down the Botox use because she had noticeable wrinkles above her top lip.

Renee Zellweger is a rubbish actress in anything she does. Weight loss or not.

Her performance was really good. I didn't think the rest of the film matched up, though.

I agree she really surprised me with her acting in this movie.

It's evident she poured everything into this role and the result is extraordinary. I'll be really happy for her if she takes both the SAG and Academy Award. The movie itself is so-so, I'd give it a 7/10. It's very well directed, but the script could've used another pass.

7/10 1) What does the last flashback (Judy looking at the audience from behind the curtain) mean? Rather, what was the point? 2) Judy asks Lonnie Donegan to sing 1 last song when it's his turn to perform, and he agrees. However, she sings 2 songs! How rude! Yes, we can see Lonnie smiling, so he's cool with it, but she doesn't know what.
