I found a DVD of this at a Dollar Store. Its a really crazy movie that is very much reminded me of Reservoir Dogs. It has a solid cast of Mark Hamill, Tony Todd, Sonny Chiba, Jeff Fahey, Michael Biehn and Danny Trejo. The film is about a diamond heist that goes wrong and six years later the group of thieves meet for a sushi dinner complete with a nude girl covered in sushi. Yum. The leader of the group (Tony Todd) figures out that one of the thieves stole the diamonds and they all take turns torturing him. Mark Hamill steals the show as a Truman Capote like gangster. Anyone hear of or see this film?

I've seen that movie. It starts out ok but descends into nothing. Awful stuff.

Saw it a few years ago. Don't remember anything about it other than it having a cast full of 80s has-beens.

Sounds pretty odd and freaky. Who knew Mark would sign up for this kind of movie?

Nope pretty obscure since it doesn't even show up on Sin a ma get ton.
I am always intrigued to learn about what hasbeen stars are doing--Sonny Chiba(!), Jeff Fahey and Michael Biehn. So many of them slip off the radar into the 90s and beyond despite continuing to make films--these efforts get so little publicity (maybe with good reason).
It's a shame that they often turn out to be so badly made. Then again I have seen Basil Rathbone's last two movies and they are really bad.
Hillbillies in a Haunted House?

"So many of them slip off the radar into the 90s" Hamil was fortunate in that he could do a pretty good Joker voice and made a career out of that. Not sure what he was doing between that and Return of the Jedi though.

I assume he didn't expect an A list career. He was in the Big Red One and a couple other things (the Elephant Man on stage). He was in an Amazing Stories episode where he is a hermit who collects junk and ultimately sells his mint condition Batman and Superman comics for a fortune. After that I don't think I saw him in anything until the Village of the Damned remake (but I know he was making low budget Canadian sci-fi films--Carrie Fisher did one in Australia).
Oh yeah and he was in episodes of the Flash 1990 show doing a Frank Gorshin-type bad guy.

I saw Jeff Fahey in the Marshall then didnt see him in anything until Grindhouse. Recently though I saw he did a movie in the early 90s with Alison Doody.
Some of these direct to video ones have such bad cinematography. That one wasn't too bad but I watched something with James Brolin in it from 2008 and it was so cheapo visually. The video look to low budget movies looks worse than 1960s ones. More like music video than a movie.

I never heard of this movie before. That's an interesting cast for a crime project. Thanks for the recommendation.
