I am curious how I compare. lol
My daughter goes out twice a day to a restaurant. I go out about 3 times/ week, with additionally a fast food run once a week
thank you!!
please count getting food at a deli/counter as going out to eat.
((and that should say 'weekly', not weely. sorry))

I haven't gone out to eat since we moved to Alabama in 2011. We do pick up carry-out once in a while i.e. hamburgers from Cookout, pizza from Marcos, Cubans and stuffed cabbage from Publix and Chinese. I have trouble with my esophagus and sometimes I get a spasm which is painful and not too pleasant to see so I don't want to have this happen in public. My husband sometimes gets taken to lunch during the work week. I don't miss eating out, before we moved here, I was often irritated at restaurants by screaming kids and loud talking (yes, I'm a crabby old lady.) I do buy a lot of food from Schwan's (they service restaurants) and I like Stouffer's meatloaf and stuffed green peppers so the food is like what we would get at restaurants and we get to eat in the quiet privacy of our home. Most of these item require me to only turn on the oven and pop them in, no preparation.

About once every other month. I like my own cooking.

I was torn between 2 & 3. But, realistically, 2 is a better average ... especially this time of year, when it gets dark, earlier. In the spring/summer, the outings become more frequent.
My neighborhood is full of casual eateries, and I'll meet friends at one of them, every other week, or so. Most Fridays, I order a tiny pizza from a place around the corner. And, I stop for a lunch sandwich, about once every 10 days.

I'm finding it harder and harder to justify going out to restaurants, what with the high menu prices (plus tax and tip). I like my own cooking, and I like my own money-saving skills while shopping. With that 15 or 20 dollars I'd spend at a restaurant for *one* meal, I could easily shop and buy enough groceries to make 3 or 4 meals.
That being said, I do avail myself of the hot food buffet at several grocery stores I shop at. Those are great: good food already cooked, and at affordable prices. Very convenient! So, I guess getting pre-cooked entrees at these grocery store buffets is my equivalent to "eating out".

Maybe 3 times a week. Friday every other week or so with a friend. Whole Foods smokehouse chicken or barbecue from the hot bar. Once or twice on the weekend - In-N-Out, someplace if I'm away from home.

I go out OCCASIONALLY (which is LESS than once-a-week, once OR twice a month, but NOT never). So WHY no VOTE for THAT?

I keep thinking about what you wrote, wkm,, I hope I wasn't insensitive not to reply, but I have been thinking of you. Having trouble with one's esophagus must present problems. I wish you health I too am a crabby old lady. lol

On average 2x per week - once a week for a lunch meeting with clients or colleagues, and then once for dinner, either with my wife or with friends/family. Rarely more than that.

Very little if at all these days. Not to say I wouldn't do it if the circumstances were right.
