haven't seen this sequel but might blind buy for a reasonable price it if it has a new Carpenter/Kurt Russell commentary

Nice cover. And I've always had a soft spot for the film. Not as good as New York, but it's entertaining.

Eh, I might pick it up if I find it cheap. Major disappointment, not creative in the least bit.

I will say Scream/Shout Factory is a top company for Blu-rays. They really go out of their way to make special editions for films with new artwork, interviews, remastered picture/sound, etc.

I want but don't have a multi region player. If it's a Shout Factory release sometimes Arrow will follow soon...they usually improve on the SF versions. Failing that it would be nice if Studio Canal add it to the excellent Carpenter releases they had in the last year or so.

Didn't care for it or the first, but I remember Bruce Campbell was the Surgeon General of Beverly Hills.

There are a couple of behind-the-scenes documentaries online for the film. Maybe some will be on this upcoming release.

I thought it was a more "fun" film than the first one, although the first one was a superior film. A.J. Langer was amazingly hot in this film...

I have all the Shout Factory releases of John Carpenter so I'll be picking this one up too. I saw Escape From LA about ten times before I even knew it was a sequel. My friend and I saw it on HBO one night and became obsessed with Snake Plisskin and bought it on VHS. The local video store didn't have Escape From NY so it might as well have not existed. I didn't see it until MGM released that multi-disc boxset.

Agreed!
I think that the First Movie "ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK" is 100 Times Better.

It has a few cool moments but comes across as more cheesy than gritty.
His ‘draw’ scene is still one of my all time faves tho.

A.J. Langer's from Columbus, Ohio, the state capital. Great actress, activist and superhot. I used to watch her in 'The People Under The Stairs' which is one of my favourite moviesm, and 'My So-Called Life' on tv. She's just a couple of years older than me.

Never understood all the dislike for this film. Personally, I think it's great fun. A bombastic 90s action flick with a charismatic lead and a nifty premise.

If they actually made a Sequel to "ESCAPE FROM L.A." (never gonna happen) then I wonder what would be the Next Best City (that has become a Prison) that Kurt Russell could escape from ?
He has already made it out of New York City and Los Angeles.
