Simply put, having built up a massive amount of capital over more than 20 films and a dozen seasons of television, and having completed their long term dream of slow building the Infinity Gauntlet storyline, Marvel will have every reason to simply go crazy. They can spend all of the good will they've earned, producing the most outlandish radical concepts they want to, because they accomplished everything they set out to, and if there was ever a time to do anything and everything you ever really wanted to do, Phase 4 will be that time.

I can't completely disagree with any of that however, I would like to see some of that capital go towards making the Marvel Filmed Rights portfolio whole. I wouldn't mind if two studios made competing character films but, Marvel needs the right to incorporate some of these characters into the MCU. I'm sure Sony could use a cool billion or two to stem the tide of recent loses. All it will cost them is the prince of the MCU.

A billion seems rather steep for one character. Now a billion for FF and all that includes, like Doom, Kang, Annihilus, the FF themselves, Silver Surfer etc, is something you can build an entire phase around, so perhaps that would be worth it.
I would say the same about the entire Spideyverse, but it seems there is a path forward to work together, and I'm pretty confident that will get worked out to the benefit of the MCU. Marvel isn't letting Spidey go.
