Yeah... the entire film would have basically been set to the tone of the opening scene. I'm sure Dennis is getting off to this, at least, though.

Probably no Cherry Bomb. Check out the fan-made trailer below. Best part was when they tried to make Rocket sitting on Gamora's head out to be horrific! lolol

The one shot of Groot smiling is out of place.

The one shot of Groot smiling is out of place. Well he did smile after killing a lot of people in that one scene. That was SS in a nutshell.

They should have kept it together. Show him killing a bunch of people then in the next shot had him smiling. With how they cut it the smile is a separate thing.

It looked forced at times trying to take it out of the childish/simpleton style to something even remotely more grownup.
Just goes to show that Marvel is a product of Disney.

You just described all of the DCEU's attempts in a nutshell! believe me, if DC wasn't even remotely grownup, you'd be all over that franchise like you are now with Marvel. The OP's spoof trailer scared you so much that it made you wet your Captain America's Underoos.

As it stands, that bankrupt "grounded" approach makes it very ashamed.

As it stands, that bankrupt "grounded" approach makes it very ashamed. The DCEU vs MCU debate will likely rage on forever. After a fair amount of soul searching, I came to the realization that the reason I don't care for the DCEU is because I don't really care for DC characters (with few exceptions). Simply put, #NotMyCharacters #NotMyUniverse I'm just not all that invested in what they do at all. While I disagree with their creative approach from a casual distance, I think it's just as valid as anything else going on in movies today. Maybe if I cared about their IP more, I'd be up in arms or whatever. I just wish DCEU fans would stop browbeating Marvel fans because the MCU has mass appeal. It's not wrongly deserved - it just is what it is. I'm starting to think we should all just mind our own side of the street. If you have the misfortune of being caught in the middle - good luck my heart goes out you. SaveSaveSaveSave

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” ― C.S. Lewis

Lewis to justify wetting your pants all you want. I'd quote Lewis C.K., but you'd lock yourself in your safe room for a week.

If you're going to claim some kind of superiority, actually get the spelling right.

Well, I've finished checking through Louis C.K. quotes and not found a single one dictating what kind of entertainment I SHOULD be enjoying. I did find out he was in The Secret of Life of Pets, though, so...
