You can pick up to 5. The five with the most votes by due date will advance with others for the final 50. In the event of ties that create a tie that brings 6th place or less in a tie for 4th or 5th, then none of those tying will be advanced. If they tie for 3rd, then I'll hold a quick run off in this thread for advancement into the next phase. This is ICONIC movies, not necessarily good ones. Movies with iconic scenes, iconic lines, iconic heroes, and so forth. That in itself makes more than the 500 movies, so some movies are omitted. However, the most iconic are included into 10 groups that present an ideal cross section.
This 8th thread is the "jock" thread. A man's movie. Even when the hero isn't tough, he has moxie, or he's a real anti-hero.

I placed them in another of these threads. I am not familiar with them, which doesn't speak well for a movie being "iconic", but the "cult" style movies have specific audiences, and probably over half the movies ever made have some cult appeal. I believe these movies are in the "leftover" thread.
