SF 49ers QB, Jimmy Garappolo – Studied under the tutelage of the greatest of all time, Tom Brady.
Tennessee Titans head coach, Mike Vrabel - Learned for the best, Bill Belichick.
It’s kinda like watching your kids leave the nest and make a mark for themselves for the first time in the real world.
Or like those martial arts movies, where the student finally bests the old master and becomes their own man.
It would be an honor to pass the world championship torch to one of those two. I know who I'll be rooting for next week!

League MVP and another ring. No one is crying about it, but you. Maybe if the Patriots QB was someone more pedestrian, like Joe Montana. They may have unceremoniously jettisoned him for the next up & comer, like the 49ers did. But the true GOAT? Uh, no. And it certainly paid off, with #6!

The Rams only scored 3 points in the Super Bowl so Garoppolo could've beaten the Rams so they didn't need Brady to beat the Rams. But Brady's 13 points weren't enough to beat Tennessee so if the Pats still had Garoppolo, Garoppolo could've beaten Tennessee. But Brady was such a self-centered asshole that he got Kraft to force Belichick to trade away Garoppolo so the Pats lost to Tennessee. So it didn't pay off for the Pats because the Pats traded away a young franchise QB and the Pats probably won't make the playoffs next season.

It take more than one game to win a championship, cupcake. After watching the Texans get shellacked by Kansas City yesterday, it just reinforces how totally awesome Tom Brady and the Patriots were last year when they went to their house and outscored that crazy high flying offence. You think the Patriots could have done that last year with Garoppolo? And you think a Garoppolo led Patriots could have done it again this year, culminating in a 7th world championship? You sure you’re not a Patriots fan? ::laugh::

You sure you’re not a Patriots fan? His entire argument is made of hypotheses. I can play that game, too. I think the Patriots don't even make it to Super Bowl LIII with Garoppolo. He definitely doesn't throw for 505 yds in SB LII. If Jimmy had the same roster Brady had to deal with this past season, Jimmy is out for the year by week 3 after scrambling around trying to do too much to make up for the offensive inefficiencies on his own. I like Garoppolo, but I'm glad we held onto Brady instead.

It's too bad for the Patriots that Brady was such a self-centered asshole that he got Kraft to force Belichick to trade away Garoppolo so he wouldn't have to compete against the young, franchise QB. Garoppolo(sp?) wouldn't made it much further then Brady with this team: poor planing and work from Belichick (and Kraft), or sabotage by a sore coach who want to get rid of his QB?* And don't forget how well the season started for the Pats (the pundits were even speaking of a perfect season), and yes, it was an easier schedule at the beginning, but they lost their last game and thus the bye week against the Dolphins. A trash-team. And while the Jets made an impressive move forward: from total junk to a potential play-off team in the next season (their second half was a 6-2 and with good picks at the draft they can build a good team imho...does Giselle fancy New York actually?), the Pats went downhill - and this not because of Brady. A lot of injuries within a team with few "weapons", and later in the season also a badly battered Edelman...at some point it was just taking out Edelman by double cover, and the Pats where de facto without a working offense. No pass game, and Brady is no rushing QB. I don't like Mahomes, but he showed what it possible if you have guys who can catch your passes. The the Raven fared worse. *the signing of a player like Antonio Brown rather indicates "desperation". They knew that their offense wasn't good enough, and Brown was the best they could come up with. But what can one do if you can't draft good players (the draft communism that punishes good teams and rewards bad teams), and also the signing of free against has it limits, at lastest with the cap (the earned money is for the pockets of billionaires, not the one's of the players). So Brown could have been the joker...

Any game involving Cleveland can't be a big game by definition.

Any game involving Cleveland can't be a big game by definition. By the metrics, the 1994 Browns were better than three of the six Patriots Super Bowl winners (2001, 2003, and 2018). That team gave up fewer points than any Belichick coached or coordinated team ever. I mean that was Cowher versus Belichick AND Saban (defensive coordinator)! All told, Cowher was 8-6 vs Belichick - - outside of guys like Vrabel that he has only gone up against two or so times, he might be one of the only coaches who has a winning record against Belichick (and all of them must date back to the Cleveland days).

Most of them for sure. Cowher was still the coach in 2004 when the Steelers ended the Pats 21 game winning streak. That might be the only time Cowher beat Brady. (Because honestly, beating Belichick wasn't that hard before he had Brady.)

Just helping you out with your master thesis of "Brady deserves more credit than Belichick in Patriots success".

Hey, if you think I'm crazy, imagine the looks I get when I suggest it to other Pats fans. But the Cowher thing only illustrates my theory to a more specific degree. Odds are, any given coach had a winning record against Belichick before he had Brady. 41-57 across two different organizations isn't exactly a small sample size.

You'd also get funny looks from the NFL 100 panel of experts who put Belichick on the all-time team. Cowher, was no where to be seen.
