Tennessee over KC. I’ve grown to like these Titans. Vrabel is the one guy to come out of New England and show he can coach away from Brady and Belichick. They play classic NFC East style football. They’ve got Tannehill looking like a competent quarterback. They’re loose and playing with house money. This is the exact style team that can slow down KC without having to resort to a 52-51 style game. The football gods will say “Andy, you fat lump, you get this far but no farther. Last year it was Dee Ford’s foot. This year will be ranch dressing on your play sheet.” Final score TN 27 KC 24. San Francisco over Green Bay. I don’t really care about either of these teams but I sure as hell am not going to pick Aaron “I’m a bitch” Rodgers on the road against these guys. The SFO defense will have GB so flummoxed that Rodgers will shoot LaFleur on the sidelines while quoting from The Last Boy Scout. Rodgers will attend a family reunion before he beats this team. Final score SFO 34 GB 20. Entire post was great but I have to give this line props in particular. More and more I think Frank is Jordan Rodgers' secret online persona. He seems to hate Rodgers more than Vikings fans and that's hard.

As far as I know he’s got no baggage like Michael Vick, Ben Roethlisberger, Ray Lewis, but that face...You know what player he most reminds me of? You remember that Yankees game where ARod was on third against I think the Blue Jays and the batter popped it up to the third basemen and ARod made a noise to try to get the Blue Jay to drop the ball? He was such a little juvenile bitch on that play. That play reminds me of the NFL ARod. Every time he tries to draw the defense offsides or just has a stank face about something. Man, fuck that little bitch.

Man, fuck that little bitch. I hate the way Rodgers tries to look all nonchalant after completing a great pass. But oh boy does he love to talk about those passes after the game. In fairness, this is largely because the media never misses an opportunity to ask “please tell us all about that pass you made!” but he’s only too happy to oblige. “Oh that? That wasn’t even my best throw, I’ve made plenty of throws better than that.” “Yeah, I felt good about that throw as soon as I let it go.” “That’s why you don’t wanna turn off 11 years of me reading defenses like that; there aren’t many in this league who can do what I do.” Man, it’s gonna be nauseating if he beats the Niners and makes it back to the Super Bowl. Great player but hella annoying.

Likely got to play Quarterback in little league and high school because of who his parents are. No clue what college he went to but he just screams Duke basketball to me.

Hard to feel sympathy for Rudolph getting clocked by the helmet when you look at his face as he’s running after Garrett. “Hey!!! Give me back my helmet!!!”

Both New England and Baltimore underestimated Tennessee and lost. So Tennessee's best chance was for Kansas City to also underestimate them. But Kansas City underestimated Houston and found themselves in a 24-0 deficit. So Kansas City won't make the same mistake again and underestimate Tennessee.
Tennessee led at halftime in both of their playoff games and was willing to play conservatively in the 2nd half, running the ball to shorten the game and then punting, because they knew New England's offense (an inept offense led by an over-rated, over-the-hill 42-year-old QB) and Baltimore's offense (a running offense that hadn't had to play from behind much all season) couldn't come back. But that conservative strategy won't work against Kansas City, which has an explosive aerial attack that not only can come back from a big deficit but also can come back very quickly.
CHIEFS 38, TITANS 21
I'm in 1st place so I can retain my lead simply by playing conservatively and picking all the favorites. But like the way I play Mah Jong, I don't play conservatively. I take risks and go for the big score and play to win.
In the Divisional Playoff vs Seattle, Green Bay led by 5 points in the final 2 minutes and Aaron Rodgers (the best QB in the NFL in the past decade) made two great 3rd-down throws to allow Green Bay to keep possession and run out the clock. That has been Green Bay's winning formula all season. Green Bay, which is 9-1 in one-score games, has found a way all season to stay close and then make a play or two at the end to win. Once again, Green Bay will find a way to stay close in this game and then the veteran Rodgers will make another great play at the end to send Green Bay back to the Super Bowl.
PACKERS 27, 49ERS 24

Yeah ... I almost hate to bring this up since you seem so proud of yourself, but ... remember when you got caught going back and changing your predictions, after the fact? So it would look like you predicted correctly? I do. And I'm certain a number of others on this board remember it as well. I don't know if an act of dishonesty of that magnitude deserves the death penalty (figuratively speaking) or not, but it's worthy of discussion, at the least. Should dcfan be permitted to continue participating in the 2019 pick 'em, or should he be disqualified and shunned due to his previous unscrupulous behavior? Like most cases of this nature, pretending that it didn't happen should be judged as a brazen act of defiance ... basically, spitting in the face of everyone who plays honestly, and only serve to compound the offense. Trying to change the subject, or deflect, should be met with the same derision. Maybe an apology would suffice, and the promise to never do it again. I might be good with that, if others agree.

Yeah ... I almost hate to bring this up since you seem so proud of yourself, but ... remember when you got caught going back and changing your predictions, after the fact? Looks like you're still bitter and salty over the fact that the main reason I'm in 1st place is because I was willing to take a bug risk and pick Tennessee over New England when almost no one was willing to pick Tennessee. LOL!!! I've never changed my predictions. sdm3 can confirm that as he's liked every one of my predictions posts and anyone who reviews my prediction posts can see that I haven't changed my predictions. Patriots fan love to lie like Shady Brady lied about being a cheater. But you should come up with a better lie than something that can be so easily debunked and invalidated.

I've never changed my predictions. sdm3 can confirm that As you well know, little fibber, your transgressions did not occur under the watchful eye of sdm3. The fact that you're trying to deny it ever happened is evidence enough that you have not changed your ways and require constant supervision. Perhaps it is sufficient to have someone keeping tabs on you so it doesn't happen again. What will you deny next? That you never planted false information on Wikipedia to try and win a superhero argument? It's just sort of distasteful having such an individual operating within out midst, like having an unrepentant child molester working at a daycare, claiming that he hasn't molested anyone on the premisis. But if sdm3 is willing to tolerate your presence, then so be it.

Mulled these picks over longer than usual this time. Probably longer than healthy. But, here goes.
Conference Championships
Sunday January 19th 3:05pm EST Tennessee @ Kansas City Titans 28 - 21 Chiefs
6:40pm Green Bay @ San Francisco Packers 17 - 31 49ers
First, the easy one. Does the "under the radar" 13 - 3 Green Bay Packers with the giant Aaron Rogers X factor pull out a shocker as a 7.5 point underdog? No, I don't think so, I like the San Francisco defense to handle Rogers and hang on to this one.
Then, the hard one, the real brain puzzle. Folks have framed the Kansas City vs Tennessee as a speed vs muscle matchup and yeah, it's kinda like that.
Nobody expected Tennessee to be in this position, not many had them getting by the Patriots but they made it look kinda easy. Then, of course, nobody had them beating Baltimore, including me. They kept the best running quarterback in check and ran the ball down their throats on the other end. Can they do it again? They've made be a believer I think they can.

Ok ... bold prediction have kept me alive so far ... so why change now!? Possibly the boldest prediction of the entire play-offs ...
Titans over Chiefs 21-17 ... Go Mike Vrable!
The NFC match is more evenly matched ... I'm going with the Tom Brady protege over the most underachieving excellent QB since Dan Marino.
49ers over Packers 31-27

I'm highly tempted to change my KC/TEN pick to the Titans. Everything about the buildup screams upset; from Tyreek boasting that nobody can cover them, to Mahomes already talking about how he'd be happy for Reid if they won the SB, to an apparent sickness going around the Chiefs' locker room, to Frank Clark saying that there's no difficulty in tackling Henry...
I'm not going to change it, but I'm getting a very bad feeling.
