Phenomenal movie. What the hell ever happened to Michael Mann? well, hes been attempting to do a Ferrari movie, hes developing HUE 1968 for FX and after Black Hat flopped presumably finds funding to be very difficult as well.

That’s too bad. And I just remembered he still did Collateral afterward which was really good and then Public Enemies which I thought was really solid. Blackhat proceeded to screw all that up.

Sadly this would be why streaming services are rising, if I can use 300 million to make my pirates in space movie, why go with a studio where a producer might tell me no?.

I remember this scene in particular when Pacino's on the phone with Crowe at Pacino's house on the beach. Very memorable and the blues are just wonderful. Mann shot some beautiful blues in Miami Vice as well.

Gosh, I haven't seen this movie since it was in theaters. I think I still have the ticket stub. I do remember that Crowe was great in it and so was Plummer.
