There you have it. First it was rumored but it was just announced. More to come.

Way to tarnish a pretty good, if not great, legacy.

Too bad that Kapler isnβt available.
Wondering if it was worth it for these teams / managers.

That is too bad. I was hoping he can redeem himself with the Mets fan. Now, he probably not even going to be in HOF.

Now they can all play kick the can together.
Can't wait for the 30 for 30 on this whole scandal. "What if I told you banging on a trash can would lead to your career kicking the bucket?"

Mets Release Mets PORT ST. LUCIE, FlaβIn an attempt to move the organization into a new era, the New York Mets announced Friday they will part ways with the New York Mets, releasing all 40 of its roster players and its entire farm system. "They were given a fair chance to prove themselves, but they've shown a disappointing lack of productivity for the past 64 years," Mets general manager Sandy Alderson told reporters, citing the 1988 NLCS, the 1999 NLCS, the Subway Series, the 2006 NLCS, the 2007 and 2008 collapses, seven consecutive losing seasons in the 1960s, the decision to trade Nolan Ryan, K-Rod punching his girlfriend's father in the face, and Carlos Beltran as reasons to swallow the remaining $480 million left on every player's contract. "Mets fans associate an intense feeling of negativity with the Mets. Cutting the entire organization was the only way to get them back on our side." Following his statement, Alderson said, "Goodbye," and left, as he had just informed himself of his own release. sports.theonion.com/mets-release-mets-1819572505

Also, 2011 is "back then." Ugh.

Where does Carlos Beltran rank now amongst all-time Mets managers in winning percentage? .500 has to be up there. 0 divided by 0 is indeterminate. It could be .500, because .500 X 0 = 0. It could be .000, because 0 X 0 = 0. It could be 1.000, because 1 X 0 =0. But it could also be negative or greater than 1.000 for the same reasons. But yes, 0 games over .500, which puts him 7th. i.postimg.cc/zfrK4hYG/Melrose.jpg

That is too bad. I was hoping he can redeem himself with the Mets fan. Now, he probably not even going to be in HOF. I still don't get it. How is Beltran a Hall of Famer but Delgado, whose stats are better, is not.

I feel Beltran deserves some credit and recognition for something. His contract was 3 years 9 million. He could have gotten every penny. You can't fire someone for cause for something they did years ago as a player. But instead he offered to step down if the Mets made a 200K donation to his charity. Basically he realized he fucked up and walked away from 9 million bucks. That doesn't erase in any way what he did, but I do think that it was admirable. Because again, he could have forced the Mets to fire him and gotten every penny.
It's sorta like when dudes get caught juicing. There's always excuses, We've heard them all. But every once in a while you'll hear a dude just say 'Yeah, I did it. I fucked up" And I think owning up to shit is always a bit admirable and refreshing. And to reiterate, doesn't change what he did. But at least he faced the music like a man.
I think this is good for the Mets. I thought it was a bad hire. I was shittin' my pants when the Yankees came close to hiring his ass. I think this is the universe and the baseball gods feeling sorry for the Mets and trying to help them out. What they oughta do, what all 3 teams should do, is hire someone with experience. I think you need that when you're this close to spring training. And I think all these teams, including the Mets, have the talent to contend this season. So hire Buck or John Gibbons or a guy like that. Whatever they do don't hire Eduardo Perez. That guys voice just puts you to sleep.
