Why Kansas over Duke? Who beat who? You know how it is, Duke got their second loss of the season so they go from being underrated at number three nationally (how demoralizing do you think it is to do nothing but win by 30-something points and then get bumped from 2 to 3?) to just pooped on. It's frankly unsurprising to me that whoever did that bracketology for CBS Sports didn't factor in that, against Clemson, Joey Baker was out with a sprained ankle and Wendell Moore Jr was out having just had hand surgery because his hand had been fractured in a game. I've learned to take rankings with a grain of salt and care most about the players' health. Someone gets turf toe, right now, and I might throw myself into traffic.

IF San Diego State holds onto a perfect record (I don't think they will), I still think Gonzaga is given the West. The different metrics go back and forth on who should be ranked higher. KenPom has Gonzaga 3rd, SDSU 8th (Kansas first). RPI has San Diego State 14th, Gonzaga 32nd (Kansas first, Dayton fourth). BPI has Gonzaga 3rd, SDSU 12th (Duke first). SDSU is 1st in SOR; Gonzaga is 5th. If the Aztecs were moved East as the one seed, though, that first weekend is played in Sacramento - - so, for them, even better than going to Spokane.
