I had years earlier bought in a whole bunch of Tori Amos records (for very cheap) but never really gotten around to give most of them a listen or more. However, while I might not become a huge fan of all her music (some if was just a bit too "cozy" if you will), but I did end up enjoying her 1998 album Choirgirl Hotel, which hit me with a very big a rewarding surprise, as it came out of "nowhere", while her earlier stuff sadly left me feeling rather "empty".
But the music that were on Choirgirl Hotel, surely was something that I could get much more out of, and is probably one of the better musical "accidents" I have had this year, where not expecting much and suddenly getting something powerful and very catchy in return:
Spark
Hotel
I am gonna keep in line with the rules, so not posting anymore videoes/songs, but this record was quite something, and so many good songs, where My Playboy Mummy is another gem of Tori Amos. However, Hotel really stands out, as the truly stand-out moment (in my ears that is), where she sings like some kind of a Viking queen at the opera (or something like that) in some parts, and love the electronic vibe going along. Might have to give a few of her earlier albums another re-listen, but as of now, this have been a very pleasant and enjoyable ride.
