I’m not clinging to anything. I don’t believe there’s some great coverup of this. I saw it, others saw it. Spare me your amateur psychoanalysis. Sometimes footage just doesn’t exist for whatever reason. If you didn’t see it then you missed it. I saw it others saw it. Let it go. Footage from the super bowl doesn't just go missing. There's either some sort of conspiracy where it's being hidden in purpose or you might have misremembered something from 15 fucking years ago. And the latter is exponentially more likely. So I and many other people all misremembered something? This so called urban legend sprang out of thin air? Believe whatever you want, I don’t care, but don’t tell me what I saw or didn’t see.

Guys, let's not have this topic be the one that tears our community apart. We already lost DC Fan, how many more casualties can we endure? I think this is more emblematic of our community: Is the thread gonna be derailed by just posting clips from The Room? Because I'd be in for that.

Believe whatever you want, I don’t care, but don’t tell me what I saw it didn’t see. Yes. All evidence and logic says that you and others misremembered something. That's way less outlandish than the alternative. And it's not out of nowhere, there are plenty of potential explanations, many of which have already been laid out for you. It wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened. I know people have adamantly and angrily sworn that Darth Vader said 'Luke, I am your father,' Hannibal Lector said 'Hello Clarice,' and Bogart said 'Play it again, Sam.' They know what they saw. They watched those movies and heard those lines. Don't tell them what they saw or what they heard! THEY SAW IT, THEY HEARD IT! And yet they didn't because it didn't happen that way. It happens. And it's interesting that you are getting annoyed about this. In saying that you are so certain that you saw it you're essentially doing the same thing that you're getting mad about. Anyone who watched the game intently and takes the opposite stance would be annoyed by you. Emotion getting in the way of logic and facts just clouds one's judgment.

I’m annoyed because someone I only know from a message board is telling me what I saw or didn’t see. Float whatever theories you want on the topic, it doesn’t change what I saw. Now we can go on all day about this, but you are not going to convince me that what I clearly saw as it happened didn’t happen. I don’t care either way that you didn’t see it or that you don’t think it actually happened. Let’s just go about the rest of our lives believing what we believe and agree to disagree. Ok? Because I’m not looking to pick a fight and I’m not trying to insult you and let’s just move on, ok?

Because I’m not looking to pick a fight and I’m not trying to insult you and let’s just move on, ok? 'You are not going to convince me' is the essence of the issue. No matter what the truth is, the fallibility of memory holds the emotional stance over facts, evidence, and truth. It's just an interesting topic. There was a show called Brain Games that went into something like this about how memory cam be manipulated. Worth checking out. I know you won't be convinced, and if that's your last word on the issue then so be it, but like the other examples of mass misremembering the film itself doesn't lie, and unlike you I can be convinced. I'm open to any evidence, but the fact is that none exists and the argument that you saw it but somehow all footage was removed from not just the DVD of the broadcast, but from anyone who had a live recorded broadcast, or from NFL films for no good reason just doesn't hold water. It's nonsense. Whereas a number of people misremembering it and that word spread is actually perfectly understandable and likely. But again, I will be convinced by any evidence that can be provided. Again, if you're done talking about that's fine for you, but I think it's an intriguing topic and if anybody wants to discuss it I will continue to do so.

You're really selling the editing and special effects short. Nobody inserts an establishing shot like the master director Tommy Wiseau. But true, the performances are pretty special. They're at a level of entertainment rivaling Troll 2 or Miami Connection.

I would have sworn they did too, but those 3 lines are always misremembered by people. Vader says 'No! I am you're father,' Hannibal says her name a lot, but when she first enters he says 'Good morning,' and Bogey says, 'Play it, Sam!' And yet we all remember it the other way. Also, Tom Cruise doesn't wear sunglasses while he dances in Risky Business.

If you’re referring to my SOTL comment, I have no trouble admitting when I don’t remember something. I knew he never said “Hello Clarice” but I didn’t remember the actual line in the movie.
