I wouldn't have a problem with it. I don't find any film "too sacred" to be remade and if a remake of a film I like doesn't interest me, I'll just not watch it.

Wouldn't care. What would be remade...the film or the novel it was based on? Were fans of the Sinatra film The Detective upset when the sequel Die Hard changed the characters name and ignored the earlier film?

I realize that I am going to get Attacked, Insulted, Criticized, and be Absolutely DESTROYED for saying this but......I would actually much rather see Hans Gruber be made a Woman in a Remake instead of John McClane.
Either Hans Gruber or Karl..........or both of them (but at the time, still keeping McClane a guy).

Only because my real first name is "Johnny", so if they made her name "Johnnie" or "John-Girl" or "Jonette", I would be quite fine with it. I never get a good character with my first name.

In all seriousness, though, who cares? They're gonna do what they're gonna do. Personally I would prefer they create NEW characters to replace these outdated ones and make those female, lesbian, gay, black, whatever. Just make it ORIGINAL.

I'm sorry, but it's difficult for me to imagine the John McClane character as a female. From all action movie protagonists I could think of McClane would work the least well as a female.
They could do a female version of Bad Boys I wouldn't mind that and they are already working on a female Cliffhanger, but why on earth would anyone think of remaking Die Hard with a gender switch? It's a pretty terrible idea if you ask me.
