While I don't agree with all the winners, I do enjoy watching the ceremony. First time I saw this, which I didn't even know existed, was two years ago, and I was touched by the simplicity, civility, and humility of the honorees, who always say sincere and meaningful things about life in general and aging in particular. Quite different from most awards shows. In 2017 Annette Bening won as Best Actress for Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool. This year she won the lifetime achievement award.
Anyway, don't know if anyone's interested, but here's a link to the the whole show on PBS. It won't let me post the video, but this will take you to it:
If you want just to know the winners, here's a link to that (though even if you know the winners, watching the show is still very interesting).

I'm interested, I'm interested! (even though I'm too young to be fully appreciative)

I hadn't heard of this until now. I like it because it excludes many movies in which I have little or no interest. Thanks for posting the article, spiderwort!

You're so welcome, Sulla. I only chanced upon it a couple of years ago, but I was very pleased that I did. It's such a different awards experience, filled with such humanity. I'm not a fan of a lot of the films they honored this year, though I am a fan of some, but as I said that really doesn't matter, because for the most part it's all about seeing real people up there on stage, sharing their creative spirits from a sincere and deep place as they talk about the work they love, as well as sincerely paying tributes to each other. It's the most ego-less awards show I've ever seen. Rather a miracle in this day and age.
Also, I realize that I did something wrong when I first posted the whole show link, and it didn't start at the beginning. I fixed that, so now anyone interested can see all of it. I encourage people to watch at least some of it. Fast-forwarding is allowed.

That is quite a feat. Thanks again.
