Has this really been confirmed?

Apparently it's true. And not in the Gobi desert making this story far less interesting than the discovery depicted in Close Encounters.

One less Bermuda mystery that can be attributed to alien activity.

One less Bermuda mystery that can be attributed to alien activity. The whole Bermuda triangle is nonsense. As far as navigation goes, the Triangle isn't even among the most dangerous areas in the world. Plus it's in the Caribbean. Hurricanes and bad weather are not uncommon in that area.

politicidal I just read about this news and I was going to break the news here... But... Y'all beat me to it. LOL! Well, I put some work into putting this information together, and I don't want it to go to waste... And So... In January 2020, the "Real" SS Cotopaxi wreck was discovered off Jacksonville, Florida, United States! ( Not Really In The Bermuda Triangle...)

“..Barnette is the lead explorer of “Shipwreck Secrets,” a new Science Channel series that will feature the discovery of the Cotopaxi in its premiere episode.”
Somewhere, there’s a producer on Ancient Aliens scrambling to scrap an episode about the ship.

First Flight 19, now this. We really need a remake of Close Encounters. Huh? While I don't believe that UFOs had anything to do with the final moments of "Flight 19"... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_19...Have any of the five "Flight 19" planes been confirmed to have been found? As for remaking "Close Encounters"... No big deal... Just tell the story with the "USS Cyclops" instead. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Cyclops_(AC-4)

First Flight 19, now this. We really need a remake of Close Encounters. Huh? Hmph. I had a very clear memory that Flight 19 was found at the bottom of the sea many years ago now, but I see that's not so. There have been a couple of times when people thought they'd found them but it turned out not to be, so I can only guess I remembered one of those stories but never saw the follow-up. Anyway, thanks for the correction.
