After getting what I consider to be perfect endings to the respective stories of Iron Man, Cap, and Widow, I find it interesting to look ahead and speculate on how other major characters like Thor will be written out of the MCU...
The obvious ending is that he would become king of Asgard... But that seems to be unlikely given the direction they took him in End Game. I do still hope they circle around to that because I don't think a sacrificial death would suit his arc. Neither would becoming some sort of galaxyy roaming loner.
So what say you? What would you consider to be a great ending to Thor's arc?

Graceful death, like his father.

In an ideal world, he should have died in Infinity War after a climactic battle with Thanos and the IG. That would have allowed Thor to go out at his peak. As it is now, I certainly hope they don't kill him off before he's had a chance to redeem himself. It would actually be hard to kill Thor off at this point without giving him at least 2 more movies. Anything less and it will feel like a cop out.

I'd say Ragnarok, but they did that already.

A noble death in battle followed by trip through Valhalla where he tries to escape but eventually accepts his place in the afterlife with Odin, Frigga, and Loki.

His character arc has (almost) always been about becoming more humble. Perhaps transferring his powers to someone else would be the best way to end his arc (?). I just don't think it should be Jane, because she didn't earn it in this incarnation. Maybe Beta Ray Steve?

I just don't think it should be Jane, because she didn't earn it in this incarnation. Maybe Beta Ray Steve? The question would be why would he transfer it? He's still at the prime of his life at a time when his people need him. There's really no reason for him to transfer his powers due to humility. If he transfers it because he doesn't want to lead, then that's merely him running away from responsibility and not due to humility.
