Whoever didn’t vote for 10 are obviously masochists. You surely know some people don't believe in hell. Athiests, Jews, logicists, all of the above... Touche. I’m a Christian myself so my beliefs of hell are quite strong and genuine. |

I will be dismissing all 1 votes because that's just dumb. So maybe we should say on a scale of 3 or 4 to 10. 10 being the most scared of buring for eternity in hell, obviously. I didn't cast a vote, as zero isn't an option. There are, as of my posting, 2 votes for "10." I'm wondering if you cast one of those votes. I wouldn't marginalize you for any number that applies. Your belief is entirely yours. But, if you are fearful, I don't envy you. You diminished the scale of your original question, during the response period, chastising respondents for being "dumb." That seems a bit dictatorial. It's none of my business, but I wonder if you were subject to a dictatorial religious upbringing. For the record, I have no hope, expectation or desire of spending "eternity," sitting on a cloud, playing a harp.

I'm more from the off like a light switch (aside from some final neuro bursts and who knows how long it feels like they last even though they occur in nanoseconds) school of thought. ETA: Don't be afraid of burning for eternity in hell; you're a nice person. Ocho, that was a nice thing to say to someone who may be fearful. I would think that most religions would applaud your kindness.

plus 1 us not just (or even at all) about not believung in hell. some of us are not scared of going there because we know we are good people. why would we go there (that is If it existed)... |

If only it were that easy... well if it’s not that easy than you are saying that the religions lie (saying “unless you do XYZ you will not go to hell”) Don’t most if not all give you a pretty detailed recipe for not going to Hell? Not to mention that a good portion of the gods are merciful and loving. |

Not to mention that a good portion of the gods are merciful and loving. Well it kind of takes a lot to be a good person. Some of the commandments are pretty strict about what God asks for, and it’s considered sin if you ignore them. |
